i didn't like this
he's still good but the production is all minimal electronic shit, most of it sounds like 2nd rate massive attack bsides. didn't do it for me
maybe it will grow on me with time

thanks for the album! GLAD he's still alive, but it is somewhat shocking, knowing how he's been living the last decade or so (heavy drug user, needing rehab. don't know if he's ever gone, but praying he cleans up...)
looks like he's healthy enough to make an album, YAY to the Gods of All Things.
one of my favorite Gil Scott songs. peace to MF Grimm and KMD

his voice still sounds great albeit much more rugged than back then
Yeah, I'm really feelin' this track. It kind of reminds of the "The Wire" opening theme track. :)Huldrich Bullsh!t wrote:wow thats pretty dope imo.GhostDog wrote:<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OET8SVAGELA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed>

I'll definitely be checking out this album. I've sadly never listened to a Gil Scott Heron album before.

Best to start with are:
Pieces of a Man
Bridges
Secrets
I really dig this album. I've listened twice now, and I could definitely see it continuing to grow on me. I disagree completely with whoever commented about the beats not being up to par. The album is definitely different from any of Gil's other records, but that doesn't bother me. It's a short album, which is probably for the best at this point. I'll be paying straight cash for this on February 9.
