I just had a conversation about this group yesterday. When it was first described to me as a "boy/girl electro pop rock thing from Brooklyn" I thought someone was trying to put me on Matt and Kim.

Then they played me this:

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3z8ppcFGPlY&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3z8ppcFGPlY&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

I liked it, it's a bit harder nh than most. Been in the rotation for a month or so

I'm definitely interested in a pm too. This sounds cool, especially if it's a bit hard.

Love Sleigh Bells. That song wheels posted got reworked and became "Kids" which bangs hard (nh).

Yeah, I put them in my best of 09 mix. They're on that gritty, hard shit which is always appreciated.

The first two songs remind me of MIA, which isn't that bad since MIA gets pretty dope production.

thread derail: MIA reminds me of a black lady gaga.

If it wasn't for the Diplo production would anyone give a fuck about MIA?

"Rock n Roll Part 2" for the Williamsburg set. I don't like it, and most of the people who do will take it back after this album ages like milk.

it's basically that, her good looks matched with rebel attitude, and the cool back story (in a "ooooh wow, that's so different!" sort of way)

I agree it won't age well, and isn't very good solo listening(car/PC/whatever). But if you're in a club/lounge whatever at 3AM this shit hits.

I think MIA got them a deal, or they're on her new label, or something. which makes sense.
Other than Diplo tracks, I find MIA unlistenable. I like Santigold, though.

And this Sleigh Bells has some dope tracks. I listened to it for a few days a month or so ago.
Thanks to the internets and constant downloading/album checking in general, I've quit listening to this album.
