The Dream - Love King

Post by Indivisual »

Leaked earlier this week. Album is really good for what it is. "Yamaha" is such a blatant Prince ripoff but its so dope.
IMHO, there is no lyricist now or before that can match the lyrical dexterity of Qwel.

This dude needs someone to write lyrics for him, his production can be pretty sick but gotdamn everything that comes out of his mouth is cornball and redundant as fuck.

..and what it is is perfect pop music from the best r&b producer/singer/auteur of the last few years.

Actually, it's not as amazing as Love Vs. Money, but Yamaha and Panties To The Side are both incredible.

I dunno. I didn't think it was as good as LvM at first either, but the album is sounding better with every spin. The bonus tracks are ehhh, but 1-12 maybe as good as LvM. Although I will concede that there is nothing touching "Fancy" on here.

I'm really digging the Yamaha-Nikki Pt 2-The Abyss section in the middle of the album, especially when Nikki Pt 2 turns into The Abyss.

Yeah panties to the side didn't strike me as being one of the better songs on the album. sex intelligence 2 > 1.

also been fixated on F.I.L.A. past couple listens. This album gets better with every play.

So, um, maybe the Panties To The Side trailer will convert you doubters?

^^^^^

damn, that's a helluva start.

u know listening to february love the first time, i kinda felt like he was trying to make that song this record's "fancy." i think it might have been the piano that made it feel that way.
