Tame Impala

Post by Cowy »

Someone school me, maybe Moolah...their from Australia.

I went from having never heard of them, to hearing about them 3-4 different occasions in the last week.

The songs up on their myspace seem pretty tight. Apparently their opening for MGMT right now too.

i saw them at Sasquatch and it was one of the more surprising (in a good way) sets. DL the new album "Innerspeaker", it's great. obviously you've already heard some of their songs so i don't need to describe the music to you, but the whole album is basically on some "she said she said" steez.

don't know about silverchair, cause i never listened to silver chair

no cream here at all, the sound is not heavy enough and there's no blues in it at all.

i keep hearing the Beatles comparison, but its is misguided imo. more like oasis with more acid and smiles and less cocaine and snarl

i like about half this album. it's not really blowing me away. i expected more from the way everyone hyped it

my cream inference was "how i felt" not about it being actually creamish - the fuzz behind the guitar is similar in tone but you are absolutely correct in how it isnt bluesy

i still been digginsit

Anyone have a link? I downloaded it like 3-4 times and their all fucked up with "bad blocks" in the RAR file. Not sure if the record company is doing that on purpose or whatever.

Also someone mentioned a good website search/aggregator for finding links. Anyone know it? The old google "album name + band name + blogspot + .RAR" or whatever doesn't work nearly as good as it used to.

The lead singer sounds exactly like John Lennon. That's as far as the Beatles comparison goes.

Someone asked for a link, here ya go:

Innerspeaker is my favorite album this year. Saw them open for MGMT and they were great. Vibes straight out of the late 60's but a lot of lyrical depth as well. The Lead Singer/Guitarist Kevin Parker used to be a drummer and practically played everything himself for the album recording.

Alter Ego and Expectation are my cuts as is this-
