saw Black Tusk. they were fun. thought they would be more of a generic stoner band, but it's actually more Motorheady, fast, ugly type shit.

Saw both Primus and King Buzzo solo a few weeks ago. Great shows. I really liked Buzzo in particular, his new acoustic material is actually pretty dope. Did an Alice Cooper cover and a bunch of old Melvins tunes as well.

saw this French band called Celeste last night. They play I guess blackened hardcore, really evil sounding.

The visuals are awesome though. Pitch black with a strobe and all the band members have red lights on their heads like miners' hats.

here's a pic I took.

opening band was a Russian band called Reka. They sound like early Isis/Cult of Luna. nothing new but very enjoyable.

Saw Dick Dale this weekend. 77 years old and the dude still rips.

The guys that opened for him were dope too. Coffin Daggers. Instrumental surf with heavy 60's sci-fi/horror influence.

that's a mighty sweet line-up.
last i went to was DBT again, indulged in far too much whiskey and don't really recall the encore but it was a hell of a show no doubt

Mastodon/Gojira/Kvelertak for the 2nd time this year.

Great show, aside from the dude who insisted on doing karate in the pit.

Nope. I don't usually bring ear plugs to concerts but I'm glad I did for this one because I was right up front. You can literally feel the floor/your body shake from the wall of amplifiers they have set up in front of the drummer. Gira had a bit of a sore throat but they were still pretty fantastic. 2 fucking hours, I think that might be the longest set I've ever had to stand through. Talk about exhausting.

I saw Deathcab this past Thursday, they were excellent. Ben Gibbard looks 15 years younger than he did when he was drinking heavy and dating Zooey, all fat and bloated like a Belushi. It's too bad though, because that's when he wrote good music and this new record sucks balls.

Then I went and did it again bros- Paramore. Best band on the planet, possibly of all time.

Two weeks ago I saw John Grant, TV On The Radio and the Pixies. I won the tickets off the radio so it was extra great. John Grant was the opener, he wasn't that good. I was disappointed that (some of) the crowd didn't pay much attention to or showed love for TVOTR. They were very gracious and put on a tight set. Kyp made it a point to say how cool it was to be there, to share that moment with everybody. And they gave props to the Pixies too. They played Happy Idiot and Trouble and DLZ, Wolf Like Me, Golden Age and some other stuff. The Pixies headlined minus Kim Deal but still rocked the spot. I forgot that Black Francis is not much of a talker between songs, so that was my only grievance. I don't know why I feel like that, just think it's cool when artists share a little dialogue with the crowd in between numbers. They played Ed Is Dead, Vamos, La Isla Encanta, Wave Of Mutilation, Nimrod's Son, Here Comes Your Man and some other stuff and rolled out some encores like Where Is My Mind? Definitely one of the best shows I've ever been to.

went to see this whacked out psych surf band called Daikaiju.

The music kind of sucked but they were pretty insane. Don't feel like going into details, but tons of crowd surfing, lighting instruments on fire, and playing drums on top of the bar.

these guys: https://www.facebook.com/godaikaiju?fref=ts
