Not sure if this will appeal to anyone on here but I've been ripping a load of my old jungle tapes and uploading them for friends. Thought I'd post up the links here. Some proper history from an era when jungle was still very much a street thing and the events werent over run with faggots wearing Vans and shutter shades.
DJ Hype with MCMC & MC GQ @ Helter Skelter's 'Energy 96' at The Sanctuary, Milton Keynes. All the big 96 tunes on this. This was the first rave I went to and is still my favourite set from that era. http://www.divshare.com/download/20265733-b6c
always been a big time jungle fan, dj-ed for years and although his tunes/sets were a bit too harsh for me, always been a big Hype supporter, love his seemless scratching.
Only had the pleasure of seeing him spin once, sadly, I remember him scratching the lyrics of a hiphop tunes over the dnb beats for some measures, than pulling back the dnb beat for a measure or two and then letting it ride again & pulling the hiphop tune of the turntable looking into the audience as if he was doing the dishes.
Always had the feeling he was holding back scratching as well as producing for some reason.. maybe for fear of going over thhis audience's head..
thanks for the links man. I'll try and get a few old Hype sets posted up for you. I was going out to D&B nights regularly (and DJ'd) from about 96-2005 and saw him play alot. He was always known as being a bit of a grumpy dude but I think it was just down to him smoking a lot. He was pretty funny when I used to listen to his show on Kiss FM around 95/96.
Love early 90's jungle. Used to go to a lot of these nights in Essex, Kent and London from 93-97. Great memories of that time, although was a little bit too young to really enjoy a lot of the nights. Always felt slightly paranoid, and always had to run the gauntlet of getting ID'd by the bouncers.
CSB – when I was 16, I did the cloakroom at a jungle night in Southend between 9-12pm in return for free entry and some free beers. A notorious local nutter demanded to inspect a Chipie Parka, which he promptly ran off with. It was DJ Hype's, and I was unable to show my face at that night ever again.

Legend has it that since the early days of Drum & Bass there have been so many great tracks that remain unreleased and have since been lost having only made it to acetate (or dubplate) for a handful of lucky DJs never reaching the hands of the general public. Here’s a mix I put together of 20 tracks that may never officially see the light of day due to unforeseen circumstances. Long live the lost dubplates!

Nice find Step One
I recently stumbled upon this one...
I was an Krust obsessive back around 95/6/7 (esp stuff like Jazz Note, Genetic manipulation ep, Soul In Motion, Angels, Future Talk) so this is right up my alley..
Side A starts off towards the end of an interview with DJ Trend (RIP), then Nicky interviews Stevie Hyper D (RIP) before he gets on the mic for about 30 mins while Nicky gets in the mix.
Lots of late 90s jump-up business - Kartoonz, True Playaz, Congo Natty, Fresh Kutt etc
