These are just my favorites, so I apologize if I left out something important.

He's got some dope stuff on bootleg (James Gang, Barnstorm, The Eagles, etc). I'll post a few things shortly.

As for my vote, it's hard not to go with "In The City".

My brother would whip my ass for not voting for in the city but... walk away is one of my favorite classic rocks of all time.

Some James Gang Rarities:

Jeff's Boogie Jam (Kent State WMMS-FM - Late 1968)

http://www.divshare.com/download/24060098-249

This is the earliest known Joe Walsh recording. It's a cover of the Jeff Beck track "Jeff's Boogie". Here's some info from the person who unearthed it:
This is a weird one. It appears to be a live in the studio recording. Of course, WMMS-FM
was in Cleveland, and Kent State wasn't (but close), so maybe the connection is
that the band were students at Kent State, and the tape was taken to WMMS-FM to
be broadcast? WMMS-FM started up circa October 1968, so it likely has to be after
that. Walsh's guitar is way up in the mix, and Fox's drums are a bit buried, but for
the era it sounds pretty good. I'm calling this "Jeff's Boogie Jam" as that's the basic
theme for most of it, but there's countless BEATLES, YARDBIRDS and many other
riffs present here. Lots of wah-wah and echoplex, especially towards the end.
Intro Jam (San Francisco 11/21/70)

Ashton Park Jam (San Francisco 11/21/70)

You're Gonna Need Me (San Francisco 11/21/70)

http://www.divshare.com/download/24060493-701

San Francisco 11/21/70 is probably the best unreleased show in circulation, which isn't saying much. It's a soundboard, but most of the vocal tracks are distorted, and therefore unlistenable. These three are great, though.

Walk Away (New York 5-15-71)

http://www.divshare.com/download/24060257-439

From the officially released "James Gang In Concert".

The Bomber (VPRO 7-15-71)

http://www.divshare.com/download/24060179-6db

Take A Look Around (VPRO 7-15-71)

http://www.divshare.com/download/24060178-c04

These are the only two tracks that surfaced from a concert in Frisa, Holland. According to the dude who taped 'em off the radio, there were only 40 people in attendance. Joe would leave the band towards the end of the year to embark on a solo career.

The Bomber (Arlington 9/24/73)

The Bomber Outro (Arlington 9/24/73)

http://www.divshare.com/download/24077938-b7c

Turn To Stone (Arlington 9/24/73)

http://www.divshare.com/download/24077941-06d

Three keepers from the only Barnstorm soundboard in circulation. Rocky Mountain Way has some flaws, so I didn't post it. Otherwise, it was a very short show (6 tracks).

Rocky Mountain Way (Houston 11/6/76)

http://www.divshare.com/download/24077939-517

From an Eagles soundboard. I edited out the horrible Peter Frampton shit. They also performed Turn To Stone and Funk #49, but the backup singing by Henley & Frey is so atrocious that they're pretty much unlistenable.

Life Of Illusion (Dallas 10/11/81)

http://www.divshare.com/download/24077961-877

This was pretty much Joe's last hurrah. Nothing else from this show is listenable.

The Eagles are one of my dad's favorite bands. I've always been of my dad's good friend's opinion that they have 3 great songs (Hotel California, Desparado and New York Minute are my favorites and the rest is meh).

I'm not very familiar with Joe Walsh's solo career, but Life's Been Good is one of the most baller rock songs of all time. Word up.

I like Eagles production. I'm just not a fan of Don Henley or Glenn Frey.

I could put this on a loop and listen to it all day long:

Take It Easy (Isolated Electric Guitar)

http://www.divshare.com/download/24078493-aef

From a Take It Easy multitrack bootleg with 9 isolated parts and a mixdown. Shit is clutch.

Aww man. That hurts. Henley has one of those cool white guy soul voice. I mean, he's no Steve Winwood or Michael McDonald, but still.

Yeah, my bad. I definitely side with Jeff Lebowski on this one.
