so your favorite self loathing rock act is back with a new album (apparently called "hesitation marks") due september, after half a decade since the last one ("the slip").
here's the new single:
as expected, the lyrics are embarassingly bad. which was the case with the album ("welcome oblivion") reznor released under the "how to destroy angels" moniker (him, his wife, this dude he won an oscar with and his art director) earlier this year. here's their single:
what does the think?

note how the new artwork is done by the same guy who did "the downward spiral". they're also using the same font.
i hope, he's not on some knee-jerk "looking back at my career" kinda shit.

this week has made it glaringly obvious that black sabbath, megadeth and nine inch nails need to call it a day and stop shitting on their pasts

You beat me to it... It's straight. Nothing new really but it's not bad. Reminds me of something off The Slip just a lil less minimal. A tad bit...

im pretty bummed that i wasnt interested in getting tickets to see them live, and the decent seats are now sold out.
they are sounding better live now than they have in years. the (short) break did them a world of good.
i saw them live in 1994 and it was fantastic. then they werent so fantastic.
but now they are on again and dammit, i wanna go!

So what do you guys make of the album's themes and lyrics? They always border on bugging me for mostly being 6th grader poetry...

Someone—or, more likely, several people—at the Associated Press made an embarrassing mistake this weekend when writing up Nine Inch Nails’ headlining set at Philadelphia’s Made In America festival. The uncredited writer of the review notes that “NIN closed the night with a slow and smoky cover of Johnny Cash’s ‘Hurt,’ which earned nonstop cheers from the crowd,”
