The Avett Brothers

Post by Trademark »

I've been listening to them for a couple of years now and I'm psyched about their new album that drops tomorrow. I thought since this forum is called "Rick Rubin" and he produces their stuff that it was appropriate to talk about it here. anyone else dig the Brother's Avett?

I've only listened to their Live at Bonnaroo set, but I liked it a lot. I'll probably peep the new stuff.

They are incredible live and because of that their live albums are some of their best stuff! Live they are like a bluegrass punk band(albeit mildly) with guttural screams and other awesome stuff. I've seen them live once and they were impressive. As far as albums that aren't live go, I recommend:

The Carpenter(their last one)
I and Love and You
Emotionalism
The Gleam
Country Was

yeah i like these dudes. they've been big around NC here for a long ass time, tho it wasn't until watching them this last summer that i found out that the slightly chunky goofy bassist is indeed not an avett bro. nor is the korean cellist if one had mistakenly thought that
thought the last album was real good. d/led the new one but haven't listened yet,
shows are good fun
