Madchester / Baggy / Britpop Thread

Post by ChaMerZ »

i just realized that the only '90s alternative' rock i find appealing is the poppy stuff that the brits were doing. i was a casual fan of some of these bands when i was a kid, but gradually found them less and less appealing because i wanted to 'fit' in. so i suppose it's a nostalgia thing.

anyways, let's discuss the bands that did damage in this scene:

stones roses
charlatans
(early) blur.
joy division
oasis

etc

pick your poison

there should be absolutely no grunge in this thread.

Yah, Happy Mondays are canonical Madchester. Good drop, they slipped my mind for some reason. Silly me, I should have included them in the opening post.

Interesting. I know nothing of what the band members were up to pre-Oasis.

Btw, the band's breakup was apparently rooted in a squabble between the Gallagher brothers. Do you know exactly what happened? I'm only a casual fan so never really followed up on all of the beefing.

No idea, I fucking hated Oasis and know next to nothing about them except they're huge assholes. That's the only thing I know about Noel and Inspiral Carpets.
