for those interested, heres a sample of the hottest stuff comming out of the islands

its no secret that hip hop producers are constantly playing catchup wit the riddims comming form the hotter regions of the world, see whats good right now.


this is all "hardcore" so no "corny soca" i know yall dont really like that.

infact its mostly reggae. but none of it is composed produced or arranged by jamaicans. there are however two jamaican singers, ziggy ranking and pinchers. the rest is from trinidad, barbados, and st vincent and grenadines (svg) and grenada

onyan and burning flames - passa passa party

legendary antigua jamband burning flames almost broke up when oungku left, but onyan (singer) and the rest of the bandmembers are together and putting out the sound (blazing blend of soca, zouk, salsa, merengue and rock and roll and even country) they are loved for. this tune "passa party" is an ode to passa parties and classic dancehall dances like boggle pepperseed, and new ones like dutty wine and summer bounce...

this is the remix to the beautiful track 3 miles by kmc, which is a wonderful track on its own, females singing african chants, thunderous drum, and kmcs signature sound on one of the best soca tracks of the year. the original might even be better than this, but this one is a little more amped up, and besides, bounty killer is on it.
