Snapcase- Lookinglasself

Post by blastmaster »

There was a period in my youth when this was my favorite album. These dudes were pretty young when they recorded this, and it shows in the rawness of the records. They "matured" a bit on Progressoins Through Unlearning, and that may be a better album for it, but it lacks the intangibles that made Lookinglasself so special to me.

Im sure there is some Upstate, NY bias/nostalgia involved, but I listened to this album over the weekend, and it is still one of my favorites. "Filter", "No Bridge" and "Decieved" are as good as any hardcore songs from that era.

yeah, a few years ago this band were one of my favourites. huge fan of "progression through unlearning" - caboose and zombie prescription are immense. i also liked the third album, "designs for automation" a lot when it came out, but looking back it's a bit wank. but still, excellent band.
