I ran this poll once before and the results were extremely close. There is NO right or wrong when voting. Both are classics. Both aged differently but both were monumental.

I have always wished Axel Rose died instead of Krudt Cobain.

nirvana fucking sucks, biggest cult of personality since the doors

unless you're 30something you had nothing to be grungy or depressed about when this band actually mattered

had a conversation about this two years ago with some friends

kind of blew my mind at the time even though one of the guys (who is the most knowledgable about rock) totally blew it off

Watch out for the ironic hipster blog Grunge revival penciled in for a Summer 2007 target date, right after the New Jack Swing revival becomes too cool.

Appetite For Destruction is a significantly better album. This is like comparing a Lox album to Enta Da Stage.

I'm pretty sure Cobain copped to that himself while he was alive. You know about the Killing Joke mimicry right?

It's already started. I saw some kid that looked like me in 1991 around Washington Square park. All I could think of was 17 was a stupid fucking age.

No, I don't think I do, what song ripped off Killing Joke? But I mean generally I could give less than a shit about Nirvana anyway. I'd pretty much take More than a Feeling over anything they ever did.

The main riff in "Come As You Are" sounds almost identical to the main riff in "Eighties" by Killing Joke

The beef was squashed though, and now Dave Grohl and Killing Joke collaborate on the regular.

As for the poll, I really couldn't give a toss about either album. 'Appetite For Destruction' is the definitive pub jukebox album though.

I'm not too big into the non singles off Appetite For Destruction....meanwhile I love every track off Nevermind...

someone mentioned that Smells Like Teen Spirit is a rip off of More Than a Feeling....

well did you know that Come As You Are is a direct rip off of Killing Joke's song "Eighties"? they even got sued for it back in 91-92 but the lawsuit got dropped (I think there was a mutual respect on both parts) and Dave Ghrol ended up playing drums on their 2003 release.

I voted for Nirvana, but like others I've said, I don't think either album is too thrilling.
