Fletcher Henderson is pretty much my favorite big band composer/pianist. He dominated New York in the 20's, until Louis Armstrong (a one-time member of Fletcher's band) and Cab Calloway took over in the 30's. He would later become a permanent member of Benny Goodman's Orchestra for the "Let's Dance" radio program. Many of his arrangements were used by Goodman.
I'm pretty sure that this two-disc set includes everything he ever recorded except for this later work on "Let's Dance."
