Quality Music Blogs Sticky

Post by Masked Terror #1 »

Post links to your favorite music blogs in this thread. Please include a brief description of what kind of goodies we will find there.

I'll consolidate posts into a master list type structure as I see fit.

That is all.

Analog Giant - Everything from IDM to dance to hip hop. Most with electronic elements.
IMHO, there is no lyricist now or before that can match the lyrical dexterity of Qwel.

The Hype Machine

collects links to mp3's from a ton of blogs, mainly indie stuff. It's all sorted by song, it has and internal player, links to the blog to download, and a pretty good search engine, shit is dope.

it's divided into several section, one for psych rock, one for soul and jazz, one for punk, etc.... pretty much the first thing i search if i'm looking for something old and rare

gonna raid those last two links

I've pulled a lot of great stuff from this blog in the past, and it is updated every day which is cool

http://floodlitfootprint.blogcu.com/

the downloading format is sort of weird though, most of the time it will be one link which is a .txt file that gives you a link for half the album, which after you download will give you the link for the other half

Anything from Indie to Black Metal, but this sticks to the heavier or arty end, usually. Whole Boris and Pink Floyd discographies as well as Belle And Sebastian.

http://sadsongsfordirtylovers.blogspot.com/

mostly has new albums in the indie genre.
good variety with some old gems mixed in.

the only thing is some of the links don't stay up for long... whoever runs it is a real stickler about not abusing the downloading of albums before the release date.

Good source of sludge, metal, indie stuff. I suggest downloading all the Akimbo and Neurosis now. Good source of complete discographies.
