Crush, Kill, Destroy Stress! (Compilation)

Post by L.Marauder »

Music is my medicine.

When I asked a couple peeps what specific tracks they listen to when they're stressed-out, I didn't really get much of a response. I think it's due to the fact that most people bump a range of music in their library after a hard-ass day and feel content with it, while it may not even refer to stress at all. Music is simply our sense of escape from the everyday routine we get so caught up in. Through the narratives of these emcees we're able to glimpse into their lives and the everyday trial and tribulations they experience, which ultimately is no different from our own... And somehow listening to their stories helps us to cope with our own personal struggles. To deter this compilation from being too broad, I tried to select tracks that directly refer to "stress" in the rhymes, which narrows it down a bit. Also tried to mix it up with different styles too. There's a lot more I would have added.

01. Organized Konfusion ג€“ Stressed
02. A Tribe Called Quest ג€“ Stressed Out
03. Finsta Bundy ג€“ Donג€™t Stress Tomorrow
04. Mountain Brothers ג€“ Paperchase
05. People Under The Stairs ג€“ Acid Raindrops
06. Trigga ג€“ No Tomorrow (Raw Mix)
07. Kidz In The Hall ג€“ Wheelz Fall Off (ג€™06 Til)
08. The Perceptionists ג€“ 5 Oג€™Clock
09. Notorious B.I.G. ג€“ Everyday Struggle
10. Ill Biskits ג€“ 22 Years
11. Boogiemonsters ג€“ Recognized Thresholds of Negative Stress
12. Aesop Rock - Daylight
13. Street Poets ג€“ Everyday Life
14. Nas ג€“ Lifeג€™s A Bitch
15. Roosevelt Franklin ג€“ Insomnia 411 (Feat. Slug and Jean Grae)
16. Binary Star ג€“ I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings
17. Shadez of Brooklyn - Change
18. Main Source ג€“ Looking At The Front Door
19. Black Star ג€“ Respiration
20. Wordsworth ג€“ One Day

Really nice compilation - well done. The only small tweak I would make would be to add Raekwon - Rainy Days (Album mix).

Peace

I have all of those, but that is an ill tracklisting and I agree that these are really good stress killers.
