I always considered them more of a KMD knock-off...
Maybe a little of both? KMD is kind of a De La/Brand Nubian knockoff...
this shits so funny..these groups back then were all getting signed cuzz they fit what was hot.

Pharcyde blows up and 12 months later labels would grab the closest thing or just turn their groups into what was hot. I look at Digable Planets blowing up in 91 and 2 years later the formula is set for Natural Resource and The Fugees. IMO it's no coincidence there was two guy/one girl groups coming out. They weren't generic but those two groups would have never been signed if it weren't for Digable. By the same token YSS, Another Level, Boogie Monsters and the like can thank The Pharcyde and SOuls of Mischief for thier existence. Souls and Pharcyde can thank ATCQ and the the list goes on in every direction.

..maybe Natural Resource was 95? Opinion doesn't change. They got signed cuzz they fit a category .

I was actually planning on upping a bunch of People Without Shoes tonight for my blog, so I'll drop it all in here unless someone else beats me to it.
