The Soul Brother #1 Pete Rock - Rare & Unreleased Joints

Post by WiCkEd22 »

It's no question that the Chocolate Boy Wonder aka Soul Brother #1 Pete Rock is easily one of the GREATEST producers in Hiphop. Some would argue he's the best ever. Personally, he's in my Top 3 along with DJ Premier and Marley Marl. Unfortunately, Pete has tons of shit in the vaults that may never see the light of day. Some shit has come out in the form of limited white label 12" singles and others have just leaked as MP3's. I'm gonna share some goodies I have, but at the same time there's a couple of things I'm looking for to further enhance my Pete Rock collection.

Here's what I need...

InI - UNIVERSAL DIALECT

Meccalicious featuring Pete Rock - THE YOUTH

And does anyone have any info or leaked tracks from the unreleased Meccalicious album The Rude Youth circa 1997?

Here's Pete Rock - More PeteStrumentals [2003], The U.N. - World Domination (Mixtape) [2003], and Meccalicious "The Youth" *radio rip*
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=69a4 ... f6e8ebb871

Ok, now here's a little Pete Rock Compilation I put together for y'all. And please note, alot of these I uploaded myself from my vinyls. Enjoy...
http://www.zshare.net/download/57731064e5850528/

InI - Keep On [1996]

*Song only available on the Fakin' Jax Promo 12".

Meccalicious - Meccalicious [1996]

Meccalicious - How You Feel [1997]
*White Label 12" from 1997.

Pete Rock - Greenbacks [1995]
*Unreleased, but it's rumored that Pete pressed up a few copies.

Pete Rock - Greenbacks (Tape Version) [1995]

Pete Rock featuring Meccalicious - Verbal Murder (Original) [1997]
*Unreleased original version.

Pete Rock featuring Noreaga, Tragedy Khadafi & Meccalicious - Strange Fruit (Original) [1997]
*White Label 12" from 1997.

Pete Rock featuring Rob-O - War [1997]
*Originally unreleased, but put out on an EXTREMELY LIMITED HipHopSite 7" single back in 2003. Also put out in Japan on a limited 12" single.

Rakim - Livin' For The City [1995/96]
*Unreleased, but put out on various BOOTLEG vinyls.

Rob-O featuring Meccalicious - Mention Me [1997]
*Originally unreleased until put out on a Japanese only 12" in 2007, and also included on Rob-O's album Rhyme Pro in 2007.

Rob-O feat. Meccalicious - Vernon Villains [1997]
*Originally unreleased until put out on the Japanese version of Rob-O's Rhyme Pro in 2006.

Rob-O - So Many Rappers [1998]
*12" single on St. Nick Entertainment from 1998. Also put out on a limited HipHopSite 7" single in 2003, and later included on Rob-O's album Rhyme Pro in 2007.

Rough House Survivors - Rough House (Pete Rock Remix) [1993]
*12" single on Relativity Records from 1993.

Smif-N-Wessun - Untitled [2000]
*Unreleased and recorded for Smif-N-Wessun's RAWKUS RECORDS album that never came out.

Sporty Thievz - Street Cinema 2 (Pete Rock Remix) [1998]
*White Label 12" from 1998.

The U.N. - Long Time Coming [2003]
*Originally put out on a white label 12" single in 2003, and then included on The U.N.'s World Domination Mixtape in 2003.

YG'z - Groove On (Pete Rock Mix) [1993]
*White Label 12" from 1993.

Then finally we have a Juan Epstein Podcast where Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds sit down with Pete Rock and chat for 70 minutes!! This is from May 22, 2008.

Please feel free to add any other Pete Rock tracks you might have. I do have alot of those exclusive remixes that Pete Rock would play on Future Flavas with Marley Marl years and years ago, but being that they're radio rips, I decided not to include them.

Yeah I know, I'm always over on UGHH fuckin with them cats, but it's too much BS and not enough real Hiphop talk.

Btw, I'm curious of the GREENBACKS version you have. Care to share??? The MP3 I have fades in. I want a version that starts off correctly.

Alright, cool. I hear that Pete only pressed up a handfull? But anyways, I think it was you who said Stretch Armstrong always used to play it on his show with Bobbito back in '95, right??? We should hit up his blog and ask him to please upload it.

It might have been Wicked, I'm not sure, you know One Leg Up or DWG should look into getting hold of the reels and releasing it on a 12".

you are right man, Pete sits on a lot of unreleased remixes and shit and I know that people have asked him and he says either they will never come out or maybe sometime in the future, we have had this discussion at the Pete Rock forum.

you forgot to list the original version of "Verbal Murda" by Mekolicious & Buddha Monk. it's got buddha monk on the hook and a slightly altered beat.

it's different from the demo version with pete rock and meko that's floating around and is better IMO. good luck finding it though, shit is so rare pretty much nobody knows about it...

You the same Mike Nice dropping the dope Mixtape with all the Nas demo's? And the Brooklyn Bullshit Mixtape??? If so, that' ill cuz you have a lot of RARE shit!

I ask this though, any way you would ever upload those rare joints??? I mean, it's cool hearing them on a Mixtape, but I personally like listening to those songs without talking over them and without being mixed with others joints, know what I mean???

Also, how in the world do you get all those Demo's and what not??? You have a gold mine of shit.

Niiice!!! Much respect man. I been diggin for years too, since '89, but being that I'm out here in the Bay Area in CA, of course getting alot of those demo's and white labels and shit is crazy hard. Alot of that stuff is attainable in NYC. If you evert care to shoot me some rare stuff like demo's and what not, then please feel free to e-mail me... wicked22@aol.com

Here's my studio room... 13,000+ original press vinyls and over 2,800 original CD's.

Stretch is still looking for people who taped his show to send him mp3s of his own shows, so I don't think you'll get far with him.
Thanks for these uploads though. Dope shit.

Yo, when either this or their album dropped I copped from Sandbox. The thing is, they also had a Roc Marciano solo album for sale at the same time. I could only afford one at the time so I didn't grab the Roc Marciano.
I went back to get it a couple of months later and it was gone.
I've never heard or seen anything about it since then.
So, I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about it.
Was it just a mixtape? Was it good? Can someone upload if they got it? :gyeah:
