Some pretty half decent production on those you-tube previews ya posted...It should would be nice to find out who produced those joints!

First time I heard the og dirty "No Airplay"-
I'm on my home from a long day and I just picked up a pack of MAxell
cassettes to tape the Bobbito show.
It's probably about 12:30 or quarter to one. Show starts at 1AM.
Not much time, but I'll make it, I'm right around the corner.
Think I had my grandpops car underage without permission. I don't
completely remember that part of it. I may have been of age, what was this 94?

I got 2 of my boys in the car and roll up to the corner where we all always were.
One of my other boys brother runs up to the car yelling,"Yo, you gotta go get my brother!
He's down in the County Cop station and been there all day.
They said if nobody comes to get 'em, they're sending him to the county like any minute."

He got caught, just like I did plenty of times before, stealing paint markers from Toys R Us. :retard:
So I says fuck it, get in. We roll around the way looking for one of the
older cats we knew who would go and get him out.
We found him pretty quick and headed down Duncan towards the precinct
below RT 440, that's not there anymore. Shit, the county cops aren't there
anymore, period.

So, now it's like 1:10AM, I'm sitting in front of the precinct, Bobbito's
playin joints. I mean this was a good night, I don't think Stretch was there.
Needless to say, "No Airplay" comes on and we're buggin! Especially me, I was heated, I shoulda been taping.
Eventually my boy came walking out the precinct with a big stupid smile on his face.
I really wanted to just punch the shit out of 'em, but he was one of those
kids that you just couldn't really stay mad at at all.

I got the song a few years later from one of my boys who used to tape,
too. But lost that, too.

So, yeah man, thanks for this.
stretch used to play that shit weekly in 95..

download Audacity and you can record from your turntable straight into your computer. just check the 'preferences' in the set up and make sure you're recording in stereo and not mono.

adobe audition is good aswell

so Audacity is available for the Mac, and it seems to be free.
yes, definitely. I have Audacity on my Mac and it works very well.
After you finish editing your files, you can also export to mp3 with the desired bitrate.
Also, if you want, buy one of those little USB soundcards (Bohringer, for example). They are not very expensive and work very well.

any have info/file of the LL track called Strictly for all the Haters or something like that. I believe it was produced by Premo and was on some promo or white label.

I remember DJ Craze came through in like 99-00 and dropped it during a set.

Mike, did you ever get a chance to rip these two tracks from your tape? If so, can you upload them please? I'd really like to hear LL rap about drinking Saint Ides from strippers' shoes.

I don't remember seeing them on the forum, but I could be buggin'.

I DL'd that "Double L Cools Down" last summer when you put it up, Mike, but I fuckin forgot about it! Gonna unzip it now finally.

I remember out diggin with one of my boys one time back in the '96/'97 time and HE found that vinyl for like $4.99. This is one of the reasons I only like to go diggin ALONE!!! That shit would have been mine had he not come with me. **EDIT** I just looked on Discogs and like 15 people are selling this and for cheap. It says on the record "Written and Produced by Mr. Smith". There's no way LL did all them beats, is there???

And I have that promo only 'No Airplay' 12" but never understood why it was included on LL's album as a clean version??? Why would they do that??? Clean verions are the fuckin worst and they ruin good songs.

Image

And yo Mike, did you ever put up those two LL songs that were "marked to be destroyed"???
