11 Best Boston Rap albums (90's)!
No EP's or Vls, just albums...11 classic rap Boston albums to remember, or for those who need re-ups, or that eventually might have lost any of these...obviously there are some more, but not every album fits in the standarts of classic, like the Live Poets "what's it all about" LP from 1995, for instance, i mean, it has some memorable tracks, but it also has lots of flaws...but anyways, feel free to add so more classic Boston albuns...

Classics, as Boston own classics, not "Illmatic" or "Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers" kind of style, as being some of the most influencials in rap music, worldwide...oh yeah but i forgot, you only feel like it's righteous to claim or rate the "native thongue" family as classic, right...

No, I just don't like to dilute the word. If there are no hot woman in your class you don't pick the most doable one and call her a dime, do you?Mr. J Selectah wrote:oh yeah but i forgot, you only feel like it's righteous to claim or rate the "native thongue" family as classic, right...
People taint the word "classic" so much in hip-hop by handing out granding curves.
Seattle has NO classic albums but I wouldn't dare call Mix-A-Lot's "Swass" a classic. Either it is or it isn't.
What this thread should be is Boston's best albums. Adding 'undisputed" just makes matters worse because you actually believe it and are telling the reader they have no room to argue the claim.

Like i said, "Boston's own classics", if you ask someone from that era about Ed OG & Da Buldogs, wouldn't they look at it as a reference from the old days? The classic Boston days of rap, know what i mean? To that someone, probably the shit would be larger than a Tribe Called Quest or De La Soul, since it's the bean town... but fair enough Philaflava, and don't get me wrong, i feel the same you do when it comes to what people look as "classic", and it's even more annoying, if you consider from the year 2000 until here, now there's a new classic everywhere...and it gets even more messed up "with the industry, the fresh music enemy", roots are taken from the music itself...so i'll change the title of the thread...

Not for nothing, but the debut albums from both Ed OG and Scientifik are undisputed classics and fuck anyone who thinks otherwise.
There are albums that are jocked on this forum that don't have a single song as good "Jungles Of The East" or "Lawtown" or "Be A Father To Your Child" or "I Gotta Have It" or "Speak Upon It", etc.
Just saying.

Ed OGs debut has aged very well. Production is banging. He kills shit with a very unique style. Maybe two missteps on the album and they're still good for what they are (a happy go lucky single and an R&B joint). He basically made the album Nice N Smooth were never able to, with much better rapping.Blockhead wrote:"criminal" is dope as fuck. highly slept on. ed o g's debut is pretty good. like 5 or 6 good songs. a few classic songs within those.
all in all, boston hip hop has never exactly been particularly great.
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree about that Hoodratz album, I love that shit. Found it in a dollar bin somewhere along with The Chamba's album. That was a great fucking day sir.somebody cool wrote:i thought the hoodratz album was pretty weak everything else is good shit, boston had a lotta good shit in the 90s, u shoulda thrown up the concrete click ep instead of the hoodratz imo

Good to see the Street Poets and Scientifik albums included and I am an EDO fan from way back ands rate both albums highly.
The Hoodratz album was mostly good and so was that Kreators album, I like the Juice With Soul album, but didn't care for the Almighty RSO or the Krumb Snatcha albums that much.
I can't for the life of me remember what that Wiseguyz album was like, was it dope?
