A friend told me to read your review and I begrudgingly agreed. Have to say itג€™s the most accurate review I read about my album. Pretty much describes where my head was at the time. LOL. Almost makes me miss being a rapper.

Oh Word,

Anttex
Ahahah, that's cool.
To me, Anttex was J-Zone BEFORE the world even heard about J-Zone.
I found so many similarities between both of them... Very sarcastic, self-produced & engineered... And a lot of people still don't know Anttex's LP was the first album where a young Havoc could be heard.
Anttex also launched Company Flow. His label, Libra released Juvenile Techniques, and even before that El-P was down with him as a shorty, going by the handle Jamel (Jamie Meline). At the end of Anttex's As The World Turns (w/Havoc) he gives him a shout-out. Libra is also where EL met Bigg Jus, who was an employee.

Of course, things ended badly between them. Legend has it that Jus jetted Libra after he overheard shady business dealings that would have jerked El and Co Flow (sound familiar?). That's why you hear EL rap "Fuck Anttex" on one the Stretch & Bob freestyles.

The rest, as they say, is history.
Damn, interesting, thanks for schooling us on that.

If I may:

Da Nayborhoodz? I just know the afta dark/illa than expected release and I don't know jack about them, like even where they're from. Also, what ever happened to the two other guys in Poor Righteous Teachers that weren't Wise Intelligent? Culture Freeman and the other dude...

Oh! and to take the cake of the WTF happened to them in my mind is Ces! Mos def's sister that kills on UTD's Manifest Destiny. She's definitely the most underrated female MC I've ever seen and she just disappeared.

Thanks in advance and apologies for any ignorance.

Umm there was a clip somewhere of him getting punked off at a show by Smiff N Wessun & Buckshot. Apparently he was taking way to long with his set and the crowd was getting RESTLESS. I think they started chanting Boot Camp. Bas was in the middle of performing "Ain't Watcha Do" when the Cocoa Brovas straight snatched the mic and proceeded to rip. I don't think Bas ever recovered from this LOL, i wish I could find the video for you....

Anyway I'd like to add these cats to the list:

The Nobodies
Wayne-O (from E. Bros)
Ital The Ruffian
Raidermen
Sinz Of Reality/Dhark Citi
Centa Of Da Web (Whichcraft & Molecule)
Mood Swingaz
Almighty Arrogant
Western HemisFEAR (just Voodoo and Marc Da Murderah)

meen green is still making music but...its terrible

Danja is still making music, although it sounds absolutely nothing like his first album and he runs his own label Danja Zone Entertainment. Lonnie B is just a DJ now, i don't think he rhymes anymore. You can see for yourself:

Yuck - what a shame.

If anyone was wondering what Nine was up to Espi is working on a documentary with him. Although I know how the starving artist gig has often progressed into the new millennium, I have wishful hopes. Quinine was a disaster. Where is producer Rob Lewis?????

Taken from a VinylAddicts interview: http://www.vinyladdicts.net/va/index.ph ... &Itemid=50
VA: But what about that "Alpha and Omegaג€ track that is floating around? It's not the track with EL-P that you mentioned.

SSLR: That was from ג€˜95 or so and was supposed to be the intro and outro to my LP ג€“ ג€œAlphaג€ being the beginning and "Omega" the ending. I was fuckin' around, recorded both verses, and chopped up this snippet of Doug E Fresh from a live old school hip-hop tape circa 1983 or so. I sent a copy the song to my man, Chris, up at LOUD Records who played it in the office. Somehow either Pete Rock or Marley heard it and next thing I know, Marley had me come up to his crib to record a promo for his Future Flavas show with PR. This was back in ג€™97. ג€œAlpha Omegaג€ is the only song Iג€™ve ever done that I really like. Other people dig my other stuff, but I grew tired of it. Not with this joint.

^ Yeah, it's an incredible cut. Too bad his Alpha LP never happened.

From the VA interview:
So I recorded a 12ג€ called ג€œJunglez of the Eastג€ b/w ג€œBuddah Bless Finessג€ produced by Anttex and Mr. Len (to this day, I hate the ebonicized spelling of the titles!). I never liked the outcome of that project. Everything was cool when I left the studio, but for some reason Darren went back, sped up my vocals, and threw a weaker track underneath them. It was supposed to be a teaser for upcoming releases, but after that experience I stepped.
"Alpha Omega" was never pressed. There were some light talk about pressing this up on a 45 or something in the future, but I doubt it'll happen now.
