Hah you bet me to it DJ Mike Nice...wow 11 years since his death?, that's crazy, Lamont defined what it meant to be raw.

Speaking of him, Ma$e claiming to have written all of Big L's "hot lines" or whatever he said is going to be heavily refuted by just about everybody in a section of the Big L documentary. Nobody is or has been on Ma$e's side in that argument, he's basically just being called a bitch and a liar and L's brother Don said that he personally would knock Ma$e out if he ever saw him anywhere in Harlem. It sounds like he might have to be watching out for people.

This is just me but I think the height of Ma$e's "talents" peaked in '93 when he said "I've got more beef than an Islamic farm and I pack enough sonic arms to neutralize atomic bombs". It was all downhill from there, though I still like the Murda Mase material. He certainly lost whatever true skills he might've had by the end of the nineties with Bad Boy and everything else. By now he's obviously far beyond a joke.

As far as something "new" for today (which I try to do if possible every year on the 15th of this month), I don't have all that much, though I did manage to rip an upgrade for a recent Stan Spit song called Stan's World.

Stan Spit - Stan's World (V2 / VBR)

Exactly!!! Why can't cock-suckers like Lil "faggit" Wayne be the ones murdered. Not that I want ANYONE to be murdered, but if it's gotta be a rapper, why not some lame faggit like Wayne or Young Jeezy or any of those other pieces of shit??? *sigh*

What is How Will I Make It from?
Good lookin' out linkin' that up. I remember getting to hear about it early, years before Soul actually made it happen and I got to talk to him about it some before anybody knew anything about it. The only actual exclusive he used in there was the audio from my site of our Fat Joe interview (he used it as a lead in to The Enemy). It was nice to know that people like him were checkin' out the site. He's also been really good about promoting my site as well, putting the Tommy Gibbs Collection logo next to the Flamboyant Entertainment logo on official L fliers, like the repainting of the mural last August.

This project eventually spread throughout the net like wildfire, especially because it first got okayed by people like L's brother Donald "Don Ice" Phinazee, Rich King, DJ Premier and Lord Finesse. I was happy to be a part of it, if only because it's probably the most well know / popular project I've contributed to in any way or been a part of, that shit was (and is still) showin' up everywhere.

And that's exactly what I'm talkin' about with the questions. Feel free to shout 'em out everybody, there are certainly a lot of questions that can be asked. That one is one I've been asking for years now and don't really have an answer for exactly (though I'm sure I will once I talk to Jewlz, the director of the L documentary again or Finesse, somebody like that). A lot of people have been asking about that one actually, there's some mystery behind it.

What we've deduced is that it was most likely originally recorded for Lifestylez in '93 (or maybe '94) and that there's a good chance Showbiz did the beat (though that could also be completely wrong). It first randomly appeared thrown on as the second to last track for the Harlem's Finest: A Freestyle History Parts I & II compilation / bootleg. I actually tried to ask Jewlz about this a while back but he was busy I think. I'll have to try again. I'll let you know whatever I eventually find out. Good question, I've definitely been wondering about that track some myself.

Also, I'll be sure to post up the second trailer for Street Struck: The Big L Story as soon as it's sent over to me, which should be in the next month or so, sometime in the next little while. The release date is being planned for somewhere around the other major Big L day all year, his birthday at the end of May.

It's the new posthumous album, put together by L's brother Donald "Don Ice" Phinazee.

Well you might have heard about it under the old tentative title, Real Legends Never Die (first called Real Legends Don't Die).

I believe it's all unheard recordings (so they say) and original production by Lord Finesse and DJ Premier (at least that was the latest word). We officially announced that L's brother Don just came up with this updated title fairly recently.

There isn't all that much known (that wasn't known when the project was called Real Legends Never Die) but Don told us that there was enough unreleased material to make three more albums, so that's promising.

Like I said there isn't much new news out there that wasn't available a while back but if you want to know more specifics just lemme know or go to BigLOnline, there is a thread dedicated to the upcoming album there (as well as some discussion about it by people like L's brother Don). You'll hear more about it over the next few months no doubt.

Good question, be sure to hit me up if you have anything else to ask.

rip L, no doubt one of the sickest ever with the metaphors while alive. I will say this though -- with all of the supreme mcs that have passed on too early being big l, biggie, pac & pun, I'm almost glad they left this world at their peak with so much dope music for peeps to enjoy and reminisce about, as fucked up as that may sound. Obviously if given a choice we'd all wish they were still alive, but from a musical standpoint if they were still here, I'm almost certain we'd all be disappointed with the shit they'd be putting out in recent times.

u know what man, again, as fucked up as it may sound, i'd have to agree with u there on pun. He had that shit comin'. It's no secret nor surprise that dude was eatin everything in sight like there's no tomorrow and obviously shit caught up to him. Can't change a man's perspective or the way he lives his life if it ain't comin from within. As for the others though...unfortunate indeed.
