Jay Dee Song Name Help

Post by oracle21 »

I remember way back in the day I heard a Dilla track on Ren soul back in 99 or 2000. Anyways, it was a Dilla produced track and he sampled Sade's-Your Love Is King in the very beginning of the track. Go to 1:28 on the video to see what part I'm talking about. He sampled the "Comiiiiing" part of her vocals. Does anyone have any idea of what song Im talking about?thank you

:naswtf: sorry but I refuse to download something that keeps going to a download a ring tone page.

Up this in Zshare or Mediafire etc and I can check it for you.

Peace
I thought the same at first, but it does have a preview bar right above the really big "Click Here" button. Site does look mad shady though.

looking for some help on this one.

im looking for a song by a group called Deadly Snakes and it features a Freddie Fingaz.
only thing i could find on Deadly Snakes/Freddie Fingaz was this ep with 2 tracks.
(http://www.discogs.com/Deadly-Snakes-24 ... se/1917720)

the song that has Freddie Fingaz featured, "D.S. 2000", is that the song im looking for?
and is that it? i mean, have i spelled it wrong or is that just what they did?

any knowledge would be obliged, as im looking for this on wax as well as mp3.
thanks.

Now either I've forgotten where this is from or I never knew and I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the dope samples thread but people keep asking me (especially on BigLOnline) where the audio from the beginning of Big L's Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous (the title track) is from:

Everybody everywhere is scratching for what they can get,
do you think anybody in this town is any different?
They don't give a damn who gets killed,
just as long as the dice keep rollin',
the hoes keep hoin'
and the money keeps flowin'.

yep, was from a tape I recorded in the late 90s. we had here in switzerland an awesome radio show in the 90s that was playin all that indie-shizzle that heads get crazy these days...unfortunately they didn't mention artists/track names lotta times and so this track here's one of the unsolved mysteries....

Yep man, Seb n Ron T from Couleur 3 radio shows back in 95-98. used to have shitloads of tapes from back then but lost biggest parts of them (or trashed them???) when I moved...only few are left...
yeah I know...I need to rip them but time to do such manouvers is short...even don't have nuff time to rip for this forum or my blog!
anyway, I promise I'll try to do this in the near future...will also check wit my buddies as some of em should also have such tapes from these C3 shows...

That is doooooope! The track itself is not from the late 90s, is it? Sounds definitely early 90s. Down with Biz Markie from the lyrics, altho it's too bad that fact doesn't help in the search.

If it's the same DJ Seb who produces, then he's the cat who did the beat for Cashulty(off Smiley Da Ghetto Child's 12" Wake Up Call) "No Win Situation".
He also produced under the name "Smoke Signalz" and is responsible for the Juggaknots "Generally" beat. :gyeah:
I used to see him on the reg in the major diggin spots in NY. Good dude, it seemed.
And I would say the title has got to be "Microphone Controller". Heh

Anyways, here's a track off a WNYU Halftime show with Eclipse and Riz that step one posted. It's UG and 2 other cats, not sure who, but it sounds like it was definitely vinyl.

That first beat sounds like a Gangstarr interlude from Daily Operation. I can't tell from the quality but are you sure that ain't it, maybe a small part looped?
The second one sounds like the same bass line as No ID's "Mega Live" joint, but I don't think that's it.

Verge, I guess your hearing is better than mine. Way better. I'm glad we didn't wager on it.
DS coming through yet again! I looked on discogs too, I obviously wasn't very thorough.

 You better get them ears checked cause I got that tinnitus shit, yo. Lolz. Just playin, man.
I wasn't expecting this to be some "rare random rap" $80 record, was kinda hoping for a quick $5-$15 purchase. Oh well, at least we know what it is now.
Good to see you posting DS, thanks for the id and all the demos you been shared here.

discogs is usually fukin overpriced and so it is in this case. check ebay or gemm on the reg & I'm sure u gonna find this for max. 20 bucks...

concerning DJ Seb. pretty sure this ain't the same u talkin bout as the one I know is from Lausanne / Switzerland and to my knowledge didn't produce any stuff for US cats...

I downloaded the vocal tracks from that record off a blog at some point in the last year or two, don't remember what blog it was, and a Google search proved fruitless. I'll up those tonight unless somebody beats me to it.
