Eclipse has been killing it with some classic shows. That 4/18 with X-men, Big L, Cam'Ron, Mase, etc. and this one with the Jamal and Cormega. Cheers Eclipse.

I was gonna ask about that beat, too. Sounds like the same "Catalyst - Uzuri" sample, but slowed way down, that was used on Fab 5 Leflauh Lefla and Triflicts - Don't make Me Try.

And anyone know the deal with that Grand Puba - Hip Hop Remix from the last rip? That shit is mad ill.

45ReC sent in the playlist for that last rip and I filled in a few that were missing. I still don't what the one track is, they mention "College Boyz" I think, but not sure.

The version Stretch played was slightly different at the end as the talking vocals mention '95 where as the Unreleased '96 Mix (along with the LP Version) released on wax back in '98 doesnג€™t mention '95, but the beat and rest of the vocals are the same.

So is The Nation actually Buddah Nation? Also, 45ReC listed Total Organized Destruction where as I heard them mention Brooknam Rangers. What's what? Anyone?
Wicked, I remember there being more than just the 2 versions of that La The Darkman track. There was the Six July remix, the og from the same record, but there was also another version I had earlier on vinyl. It was a white label, but was red on one side and black on the other or just red on both sides. It also had that joint with Raekwon on it. I just remember it being slightly different but I can't really remember what was different by now. I could be wrong though.

Also, DJ Nastee, who did those Terra Green demos, may be blessing us with a gaggle of unreleased Nastee produced demos from back then, very soon. Keep them fingers crossed.

@Nobs I filled in probably about 16 or 17 times between KCR & Hot 97. At least thatג€™s what I can tell from looking at my labeled tapes.

@Pradadon Word up, good seeing you the other night as well.

@Stieflkater Ce-Style has plans for some/all of his old demos so I donג€™t want to let them out until he decides exactly what heג€™s going to do. Trying to get in touch with Foul Play as well so I can give them their demos (if they donג€™t have). If the artists tell me they donג€™t plan on putting them out then I donג€™t have any problem uploading them. Until then itג€™s the waiting game. As far as Half A Mill, I donג€™t think I have that demo you asked about.

6/15/95. Full Show.

a few facts (funny/interesting)

yes Aleph came by yesterday and scooped a lot of tapes. i saved one i wanted to listen to from 96 just labeled "demos"

on this tape you were filling in Eclipse. but what was funny is that i didn't know it was you until Bob mentioned it. why? because i swear either you were doing your best Stretch impression or all tall white DJs sound similar haha. Sear told you to rap and you politely refused.

another funny thing is that on this tape a then unknown El Fudge (didn't even say his name when he called) spit the verse which would later become "Beware" over the phone line. classic

need a little help here since this whole (been ripped/hasn't been ripped) thing is confusing to me. i gave a total of i believe 52 shows to Aleph. he saysonly 8 of them have already been ripped but some not in full. so lets just say around 50 shows...

now i have 61 tapes left all unlabeled so lets say 30 shows left.

what i also have is partially labeled shows that weren't together. i composed a list of what was labeled. can people help me out as far as what has been catalogued and what hasn't so i can proceed to weed out. below is what was written on the labels

Nubians/Bobbito
INI/Stretch
Stretch & Bob Hot 97 2/18 & Stretch & Bob Hot 97 2/17 (Organized Konfusion) these go together??

Masta Ace/Smif n Wessun
Stretch & Bob 4/7/96
Stretch (Souls of Mischief) 4/29/93
Stretch & Bob (Ujima) 8/7/97
Stretch & Bob 11/7/96
Stretch "Old School" 11/18/94
Stretch & Bob Hot 97 3/17/97 (De La Soul)
Stretch & Bob 7/25/96
Stretch & Bob 4/25/96 (found the 2nd tape...ID??)
Co Flow??
Stretch & Bob 11/21/96
Stretch & Bob 4/94 (Q Tip)
Stretch & Bob 7/24/97 (Liks Beatnuts)
Stretch & Bob 4/27/95 (ODB)
S&B 7/25/96 (Mr Live/T-Bones)
S&B 10/93 (Beatnuts)
dirtywaters wrote:nobs--

these might not need to be ripped---
2/18/1996 - I uploaded about 80 minutes of this show
2/17/1996 (Organized Konfusion) - i think this is actually 3/10/1996 (if its hot 97 w/OK), some dude uploaded this one as a podcast
4/94 (Q Tip) - Eclipse uploaded this full show (if it's 4/14/1994 w/q-tip and mad skillz)

these shows might need a second look or better rip---
7/25/96 (Mr Live/T-Bones) - I uploaded some of this show but sound quality isnt that great, and I think someone else uploaded another part
4/27/95 (ODB) - Eclipse uploaded 4/27/1995 but i don't think ODB was on that show, so it might be 3/02/1995 or a different show?

the rest on the list I think haven't been uploaded, and the show with--
Masta Ace/Smif n Wessun
---this show is probably 3/15/1995
it has masta ace, lord digga, paula perry, the roots, rahzel, and smif n wessun
been dying to hear this one! I'll be siked if this is that show!
aleph wrote:If you use this http://www.searchforancestors.com/utili ... fweek.html you can confirm whether the dates provided are Thursdays. 13 of the tapes you gave me aren't Thursday dates, so I'll have to listen for evidence.

Also hold on to posted shows. As Nes said, most of them are probably not full shows and quite a few are not of great quality.

Regarding the 2/4/93 show, I been wanting to know what that LL joint is for some time. I posted it earlier this year in the Track ID thread: http://www.philaflava.com/forum/viewtop ... 14#2027914

It's obviously Marley-produced, and Bobbito thankfully shed a teensy bit more light on it, saying it was played on "Marley's show two years ago" meaning WBLS probably around 1990. But of course, no title. I'm thinking it's a joint that was left off Mama Said Knock You Out. Anybody?

Mention should also be made that two Strong Island college radio legends appeared: Jeff Foss (WRHU-Hofstra) and Wildman Steve (WBAU-Adelphi), both of whom had DJ Riz as their DJ. Unfortunately I couldn't tune in from where I was, altho would sometimes catch an extremely staticky Wildman Steve show now and then.

the last one days August, 24th, which was a Monday, so I assume it was actually the show from the day before
Hmm, I'm skeptical about the Sunday date. I don't think they would have been allowed to sell Hot97 shows. Also it's in a WKCR case.

That last megaupload link works for me. Sometimes you gotta go back to it after a little while and it usually will always work. If not, let me know, I'll re-up up.

Ayo nobs, that last rip you did gotta demo I been looking for mad years for. "The See'ers - Push Through Your Crew". Thanks!! Quality is pretty bad but it was a demo tape so it is what it is and I'm very happy with it. Hadn't heard it since the 90's. This is the crew that I thought the one cat was the last cat who rhymes on that Camouflage Large "Hitmen Holdin Steel" track, I think I mentioned this over at VA awhile back. I'm still not sure if it's the same cat. Thanks again!
I tried to make the sound a little better with some eq and amplifying, but the demo tapes quality was pretty bad from jump street so it's kind of impossible to regain lost quality. Here's for the demo fiends:
The See'ers - Push Through Ya Crew [any youtubers out there, plz credit all involved if you use this, thanks!]
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JA8TN692
Their only other cut/demo I know of is called "Don't Fuck With I" and it also samples an Ohio Players cut. I will BUG when/if that one surfaces.

Anyone think this could be the same dude from the very last verse on this track?:
<object width="480" height="185"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3i2zwxdnQOs?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3i2zwxdnQOs?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="185"></embed></object>

And thanks to Nes, aleph, nobs, nobs's boy and Eclipse for the latest shows.

Seriously things are jumpin off love love right now and will continue to thanks to everyone rippin.

And peace to nobs's boy Steve, too. Sorry I got the name wrong at first. If you're watching, you're killin shit Steve and it's highly appreciated.

Anyone got an idea what track this is? It's also Smoothe Feat D.V. Alias Khrist right?

Demo... It's not on his LP or any of this 12's to my knowledge. Thanks.

Lo-Down is the artists. Lol. And, to boot, that record they did goes for some dough nowadays. At least Lo down ain't getting a cent from the second hand sales, though. Shame that this type of action is not a big offense nowadays to new jacks.

Is there anyway to make these into seperate parts so they fit onto a cd?

It's great just to get the chance to listen to all the shows but it would be even nicer to put them onto cd's.
serch4beatz wrote:well you know the show was 4h long so its a bit of a big piece of work to split eveything up into 4 parts..if you dont care too much about quality (because if you reencode mp3's as mp3 its going to lose soundquality) just open the mp3's in audacity and cut/paste them on the 80min mark and save it as that
Whattup vinyl my man! It's easy to do, just burn cd's through iTunes. I do it all the time... When the first cd gets to 80 mins, the disc finalizes and then it pops out and iTunes asks you to insert another blank cd so it can continue burning. Trust me, it's easy and I do it all the time with my own radio shows, these Stretch & Bob shows and all other shit that's over 80 mins. And for the record, I don't care for the Apple brand, but iTunes is easy to use so fuck it, I use it. haha

This will probably be my last post of the year so figured I'd make it a double. The first links are 2 hours of the "Righteous" show that I did with Bobbito on 5/22/97. Unfortunately I do not have the second half of the show which was Bob playing music. I also came across a letter someone had sent in a few days after this show aired. Hopefully it posts correctly.

And this second post is from 1/11/96. 3 hours and 45 minutes. I think it's the whole show. They just started late.
