New Year's Eve songs?

Post by Thun »

Let's get a nice compilation together so people can have something to bump at their house parties or in the car on the way to a jam.

Obviously, songs that are specifically tailored to NYE make the cut, but I can't actually think of any at the moment.

Songs about sipping champagne and painting the town red are where this needs to go.

For starters:

Camp-Lo "Sparklin'"

Add on, and please provide audio if possible.

^Nice songs there. Perfect Match and I'll Take Her actually remind me more of summertime here in New York more than New Years Eve, they have a smooth feeling about the sound & content that gives me those images when I listen. There are many different types of songs that could represent NYE to different people though.

I tend to think of aggressive dance tracks when thinking about Hip Hop for NYE, ones that have a strong dose of energy but also make ya feel good at the same time.

Mobb Deep - Double Shots, Let's Pop, Got It Twisted
Jay-Z - Show Me What You Got, Roc Boys, Venus vs. Mars
Busta Rhymes - Pass The Courvoisier
Prodigy - Sugar Pop (off Nyce's Still Infamous mixtape)
Kanye West - Stronger
Common - I Want You
The Pacifics & Illmind - Black Book
Zo! - This Could Be The Night feat. Big Pooh, Eric Roberson & Darien Brockington
Diamond D & The Psychotic Neurotics - Confused
Little Shawn - Dom Perigon
Rakim - Stay Awhile
Alchemist - Keep The Heels On feat. Prodigy
United Soul feat. Yahzarah & Phonte - Soulclap (Nicolay Remix)
JayLib - McNasty Filth
Nottz - Blast That feat. Black Milk
Raekwon - Catalina
Saigon - Come On Baby
Bink! - Smoke Sumthin' f. Ras Kass, Kurupt, Young De
Emilio Rojas - Young, Fresh and Fly
Ghostface Killah - We Celebrate
Skyzoo & Illmind - Speakers On Blast
Naturel - Say
The Clipse - I'm Good feat. Pharrell
Black Milk - Losing Out (Feat. Royce Da 5'9)
Infamous Mobb - Tonite (feat. Big Noyd)
JR & PH7 - Persuasion Ft. Olivier DaySoul & Sean Price
Josh Xantus - I Don't Care feat. Ghostface Killah
Kanye West - Power (rmx) f. Jay-Z
Big Boi - Tangerine, Shutterbug

Outkast - "Player's Ball".....classic holiday joint!

I can't think of any NYE-specific joints....
how about Def Squad's "Countdown"?

some other buckwild mackadocious drink-sippin' shit:

AZ - "Sugar Hill"
Redman - "Tonight's Da Night"
Beatnuts - "Lick The Pussy"
Foxy Brown Feat. Blackstreet - "Get Me Home"
Tracey Lee - "The Theme (It's Party Time)"

^Word. Good suggestions, although I think Beatnuts "Are You Ready" has a more festive feel.

Ras Kass "Marinatin'" is so out of place on Soul On Ice, but I think will work perfectly here.

Busta Rhymes "It's A Party" is another song I never cared for but works in this context just fine.
