Best Tuff Crew Album
Back to the Wreck Shop was the first album I heard by Tuff Crew and thought it was probably as good as they get but after I bought their first album I started to prefer it, and still do. I just think the production/turntablism by DJ Too Tuff is some of the best I've heard ony any album of that time and I think the length of just ten tracks makes it more cohesive.
Was wondering what everybody elses favourite album by tuff crew is...
Re: Best Tuff Crew Album
Deuce Ace Housin' blew me away when I first heard it, but overall I prefer Back To Wreck Shop.-Bruce- wrote:I just think the production/turntablism by DJ Too Tuff is some of the best I've heard ony any album of that time....

Definitely Back to Wreck Shop
And this cut off the Lost Archives is one of my favorite songs. Prime Minister Dope annihilates the track:

Y'all Know about this? Bad Mixtape hosted by Too Tuff and LA Kid. Aroe's a crazy Graf head down with Heavy Artillary http://www.heavyartillerycrew.com/galle ... 2815653495 and prob is best known for this but he's been down on the underground UK hip hop scene since the early 90s and is a proper record collector/philly golden era aficionado. I highly recommend you cop one from somewhere - the is a 5 minute sound clip of what to expect here... http://delarge.co.uk/wreckshop-philly-golden-era-mix

Yeah man that's him, has dipped in and out of making music since then. He dropped a 12" with MC Mello much more recently called "give em what they want" - seriously sick stuff that need to be played very very loud. He also did the Crown Jewels Mixtapes but I guess all that should be confined to the UK hip hop thread!! Don't know where you could get a copy of the Philly wreckshop these days - I guess you will be able to find it on DL somewhere on the web if that's how you roll but I think a physical copy will be pretty hard to come by unless disorda has it on Suspect Packages or something! I imagine it will be pretty tough to find it in the states!JankZ wrote:yeah Postie i know this one. Aroe was member of legendary First down kru if im right. and there r rumors that theyre workin on 2nd philly mixtape volume...

How Does It Feel When You Got No Rhymes?
Made a voting option for yall cause we're definitely lacking on the 80's rap coverage around here. If you need to catch up, here's links to blogs that have posted their LPs in the past. After peeping the oldies, if you dig, cop that Lost Archives cd, there's so much defness on there, fuckin shame that stuff didn't drop back then.
Not sure where my vote is going yet. Like Bruce, the first one I heard was "Back To Wreck Shop" so it has more nostalgic value for me, but I still might go with "Danger Zone". Even "Still Dangerous" had some joints, imo. My Part Of Town Pt.2 off that is great, just to name a random one.
I'll have to revisit these before I vote.
Don't forget their "EP" from 87.[EDIT: sorry JankZ, didn't see that you already mentioned this.] The last 2 tracks on that one are really by Krown Rulers, not Tuff Crew as the blog suggests, so it can't really be classified as an LP.

Its close but definitely Danger Zone for me.
Also this is a another favorite of mine by them from the One Voice Comp:

DJ Too Tuff kills it when he cuts up Godzilla at the end.
Glad to see this thread/poll as Tuff Crew is one of my all-time favorite crews.
