Expensive Shit is another must grab from Fela too, the music is great, but the story behind it is even better-

The title of the album refers to an incident in which the Nigerian police tried to arrest Kuti by planting a joint on him. Kuti managed to eat the joint, prompting police to bring him into custody and wait for him to produce the excrement. According to legend he managed to use another inmate's feces and was eventually released.

I got it in a 2 for 1 that also had this great Fela album (also from '75)-

Great, great, song. Classic soul, IMO.
But, besides that, mostly the whole album is really dope.

I would say Funk and Soul with a Jazz type tinge to it.
This was a holy grail to me for awhile, before my internetting days.
It probably goes for about $50-$75 mint, which doesn't sound like alot, but fuck you, it is to me.

The Soul Searchers went on to create that D.C. go go sound that I believe was realized completely on the "Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers - Bustin' Loose" album.
They only had 1 other album between these two as just The Soul Searchers called "Salt Of The Earth", which I'll upload soon.
