The Wackest Rapper Alive Contest: hosted by DJ Prince Paul

Gotta thank stepone for uploading this gem of late 90's New York college radio, this is an episode of The WNYU Halftime Show with Prince Paul holding a live contest in 1998 of who is the wackest rapper out on mainstream radio. He jokes while taking the calls and unbiased opinions of listeners, it's funny and I'm sure you can already imagine the episode if you know Paul's comedic personality.

What do you think of the artists mentioned in the contest in looking back to the year of 98? It's interesting to realize what artists remain in the hearts of the listeners and those who are just a passing trend. Alot of dope 80's Hip Hop on this episode too.

hahah mad props for the upload Brandon, i haven't listened yet but i can imagine this is gonna be totally bizzare, especially since its Prince Paul doing it. i love this guys personality, not only is he a great beatmaker but he's also very funny and both in music and besides the music he does a lot of unexpected stuff.

i remember reading an interview with De La Soul where Dave said that Prince Paul was the main reason their three first albums (which are all classics imo) was "goofy" and filled with humor. and that was the reason "Stakes is High" totally lacked that. off topic i know but i find it interesting.

That "sound of the zeekers" instrumental sounds incredible.
