i had been wanting to do that for so long. i actually just seriously considering it again last week. i'm glad i won't have to spend the time doing it now...ha. thanx

This is pretty great.

It's amazing to read that issue from 1992 and see how brash and cutting edge this magazine was - pulling no punches, dissing people for being wack, keeping a close eye on politics and culture ... damn shame that it fell off the way it did.

Ya especially the article they did on Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer about how they were gonna be the "death" of hip hop. It was eerily similar to what is going on today with the acusations being thrown around, namely at "southern hip hop".

They talked about how they were turning hip hop into "pop" and how there needs to be a balance between hardcore hip hop and the lighter side or else it will eventually crumble. Funny how things work out...

i owned just about every copy from like '93 to '99, and of course threw them all away in a house move years ago.

now i get to relive all those old memories.

Yeah for all it's editorial faults (we be writin in ebonics yo!) there really hasn't ever been another hip hop publication to even come close.

It's depressing how far we've fallen.
