Yep. Yeah he's very "whatever". Nothing he did was memorable. I was never a fan of his work.

Back to the topic, Fear Itself is one of those albums that gets better over time, imo.

Casual's Fear Itself is way better and it's not even remotely close.
awful is a bit strong but yeah saafir is average at best....thun called it...when hes at his best hes does some nice shit but he gets mad old quick...really the results of this poll are embarrassing

fear itself to me is a top five all time emcee performance...up there with puba on one for all nas illmatic dres wolf ect....

add in the incredible heiro samples that makes up the beats and its one of the greatest records ever made...saafir has a couple really good songs and the rest of the album is forgettable....ive never understood the infatuation of him by some....

i suspect the love comes from people who want to be the smartest guys in the room because they know who he is and others dont...so its not good enough that they have to drop simple knowledge that they know he exists they also have to blow out of proportion how good he is

some interesting comments and opinions here, I personally don't think Fear Itself is as dope as Boxcar Sessions, I love that leftfield shit and not to be "smart" or "cool" or "down" but because it was an album that wasn't afraid to take chances and  at Saafir bieng a hack, dude could still run circles around some of the wack MCs that are considered skilled and talented these days.

JZ's beats >>>>Saafir's rhyming.....but they need each other though. Saafir never sounded right on anyone else's tracks other than JZ and Jay Groove's beats.

I'm a fan of both artists, their albums, and their battle.
But Casual has been consistently dope since Fear Itself.

Boxcar Sessions has great moments, but is all over the place sonically.
Now, if U listen, I'mma tell ya'.

Saafir is one of my top favorite emcees of of any era right now ... Boxcar Sessions is constantly played in my mp3 player ... 99.9% of my dayz im high as shit listenin' to "Jus Riden" and of course my top song on any chart is "Light Sleeper" next to Gang Starr "Mass Appeal" ... the Hobo Junction family was solid as fuck too...

Saafir's "Battledrill" song was his Demo track (or at least one of 'em) and that shit bangz harder than it did then and it was dope to see that he did that song at the end of the "Light Sleeper" video..ill shit! and he did a video to "Jus Riden" too ...

Saafir's style is complex and is mos' definitely an intelligence, technical-whimmy style which is enjoyable to my ears 24/7

Casual is raw, raw, rawwwwww .. "I Didn't Mean To" is the joint!

butttttt.... Saafir Handz Down!!!

peace
