Here`s another joint I copped from my lil` trip to a pawn shop, grabbed this along with that Ant Banks "Big Thangs" [Promo CD Single] & a few other joints. Anyways this single is actually more like a Dangerous Crew single as opposed to just an Ant Banks joint. You see ya get the Radio Version of "Parlayin`" (along with it`s Instrumental), an Ant Banks track from his 1994 album "The Big Badass" that features Goldy. It`s got a nice smoothed out but thumpin` beat provided by the Banksta himself, the lyrics are slightly altered -- not so much edited (well except for a few words....LoL). Check out the music video below.....LoL, you get to see `em playin` some Sega Genesis, ahhhh the good ol` days...
After the Ant Banks joints we move on to some Too $hort tracks from his 1993 album "Get In Where You Fit In". First is the "Just Another Day" Radio Version, followed by 3 different versions of "Get In Where You Fit In". The first one is simply the Radio Version for the LP track & it features Rappin` Ron & Ant Diddley Dog, this track is actually pretty hard to listen to because of the way that it`s edited -- no alternate lyrics here unfortunately. The second version is the "Get In Where You Fit In" Video Version featuring Father Dom, this one`s a lot easier to listen to than the previous version. The final version is a Remix that also features Father Dom, it`s pretty nice -- no annoying edits here either. A lil` side~note about the "Get In Where You Fit In" joint, it`s actually a DiSS aimed at Pooh-Man a kat that was formerly down with the Dangerous Crew. So there ya have it, check out the tunes & enjoy the video below...

Been meaning to get back to this for the longest time.
I'm going through what's left of my crates, looking for joints that I haven't seen ripped/released yet. I've come across a bunch and over the next few weeks I'll try and knock out a few every day until I'm through them all. Not a lot of mind blowing shit, but hopefully you'll hear something you've never heard before. Frankly, some of these records I've had for years and have never played them, some are still sealed.
I uploaded these on Hulkshare, I hope nobody has any issues with Hulkshare. I tried Mediafire but for some reason it wasn't working for me.
Here's the first batch.
Dirty Work - Lower Eastsider/Dirty Job (1999)
I don't know much at all about this crew other than they represent the LES. I think they got a small mention in Rappages in like '95 but I have no knowledge of any other releases. The title track is kind of a typical '99 A-side, aimed at the radio heads. It's aight I guess but IMO the B-side is a much rawer and stronger track.

Download: http://hulkshare.com/p2x2fxbd2spb
Nottie Head Alliance - Straight From The Streets/Do It/How Can I Be Down? (1995)
A quick Google search shows this crew hailed from North Carolina but there's next to no information out there. This is one I had never listened to. Another aight record, it has a perfect rating on Discogs (only 3 votes though) but it's just kinda meh to me. The title track I think is the best one. The other side of this record is literally blank, something I don't think I've come across before.

Rican - Keep It On/Blue Martini/Dark As Night (1998)
I remember this record getting some late night play on Detroit radio back in the day. The label says Sterling Heights, MI which is a suburb of Detroit but I'm not sure if Rican was from Detroit proper or not. I've always dug the track for Keep It On, and even have a local radio promo of Rican over his own beat that I will upload when I get the cassettes going, which should be in the next month or so hopefully. Blue Martini is the first track, but it's just a glorified instrumental intro. Dark As Night is O.K., but not as strong as the title track.

Strife - Relationships Pt. 1/Relationships Pt. 2 (1996)
Here's another record I really know nothing about. Representing Staten Island, Strife goes in on two parts about how dealing with women in the 90's ain't nothing but trouble. The B-side I think is pretty dope, I wasn't feeling the A-side that much, even though they talk about basically the same shit.

Tyree Toxic - Wicked Verses/Tyree Is A Rapper (1996)
This is another one of those Echo International records that range from the generic to the bizarre. Tyree from "Mind Altering Dope Cuts" and "Lost Generation" is reincarnated as Tyree Toxic. I'm feeling the main track for sure. I'm trying to picture who Tyree sounds like on this but all I can come up with is Po' Rich (Rap Iz Gonna Get Hurt). The B side is average to mediocre to me though.

Thanks DS! I had just seen that Nottie Head Alliance 12 somewhere the other day, maybe ebay, and then saw on discogs how high it was priced at. So i been wanting to hear it out of curiosity. Like you said its meh, nothing to really even hear more than one more time, imo. I agree the title track is the best one, I like how even though that Jagger The Dagger sample is over-used, they still hooked it up pretty nice. (The first guy rhyming sounds like a big Texan Big Daddy Kane for minute, lol.) But there's nothing special about this record and it certainly doesn't justify a high price tag, unless I'm missing something here...
Out of the rest, I like the Wicked Verses track the most and then the Rican 12. On the Rican 12, I dig that intro beat the most. The title track is decent enough and i like the beat for the b-side but he sounds too much like Agallah on that one, imo, hah.
Dirty Jobs is definitely the better cut on the Dirty Work 12. The title track again i agree with you, it sounds like their try at a radio single maybe a little failed Camp Lo attempt there.
Thanks again for uncovering some unknowns and I'm looking forward to more as I'm sure everyone else is.
props.

Next batch
First joint up...
Brooknam Dodgers - Now Datz Brooklyn/Thug Shh Club Shh (1998)
http://www.discogs.com/Brooknam-Dodgers ... se/3030814
Download: http://hulkshare.com/ja2ar5ws65c4
Don't know much about these cats, as far as I can gather they were out of Vanderveer Projects in Brooklyn. Typical late 90's NYC street shit, like you would hear Stretch play at the time. It's aight I guess but nothing really original or groundbreaking. The A-side wins here though. There's a misprint on the B-side label that says "Clud" instead of "Club" on one of the two listings, definitely should be "Club" though.
Deadly - Two - I Got More Flavas Den U/C'mon Wit Ya Bad Self (1995)
http://www.discogs.com/Deadly-Two-I-Got ... se/1333311
Download: http://hulkshare.com/24fbz1cdnyni
Deadly dropped two records in '95. Kool'n I think came out before this but I'm not positive. He was down with Troubleneck Brothers and on some raggamuffin shit, he had lyrics though. Fairly decent record, both tracks are kinda dope, I prefer the title track myself. I-Witness comes through on the B-side to add a little flava of his own.
Til Proven Guilty - Make Way/Sun To The Moon/Let It Burn/All That I Know (1996)
http://www.discogs.com/Til-Proven-Guilt ... ase/328105
Download: http://hulkshare.com/p9qshtumymc0
This was another sealed one. I know nothing of this crew but judging from the massive amount of shoutouts on the back cover of this record to Queens MC's, I would say they repped Queens, or badly wanted to. Fairly average record for the time. The title track is the best of this bunch IMO, the others are just kind of mediocre. I'm beginning to figure out why some of these haven't been ripped/released yet.
Tone Kapone - Down For Mine (1998)
http://www.discogs.com/Tone-Kapone-Down ... ase/934240
Download: http://hulkshare.com/xlssnve4n3fr
Kind of surprised nobody seems to know about this one. Only one track on this but it's a dope one. Def Squad's Kapone re-surfaced after a few years absence to drop this in early '98 and picked up where he left off on his '95 release. A quality joint no question.
That's it for today. Should have a few more up tomorrow.
