Had totally forgot about this joint, and that this dude existed. Found this on a blog and got all excited. Don't think I've seen this posted (easily coulda missed it) in recent history at least, so hopefully someone shares my enthusiasm for this song.

Ahhh that joint was fly! Thanks for the single, I think I still got the cd buried somewhere. "Ghetto Jam" had a tight video to:

Every beat on that album sounds exactly like either Sweet Potato Pie or Ghetto Jam - no joke

This album was the soundtrack to one of my teenage summers... dope.

Only realized recently that dude has released about 10 albums since then... I bought one of them ("D Freaked It") for a dollar, and it was one of the worst things I ever heard.

Ha I was actually searching youtube for this video in the last month and it wasn't there. Must be a new addition

I suggested this for Drizzle's yacht rap compilation

He managed somehow to impersonate Slick Rick, Snoop Dog, Adina Howard, and George Clinton at the same time. I guess that's sort of impressive.

One of the best G-Funk albums, imo... Battlecat is a mofo genius.
As for his second album, although it doesn't really have any stand out/ single type of tracks, it's a bit more smoother/polished and I like it slightly more than his debut... I def. recommend to check it out.

Wasn't the LP pulled because of sample issues, or was it just a single? Can someone post the singles up, Ghetto Jam and Long Beach Thang especially?
Kool Keith: I wore a straw hat with a feather to the last Source Awards. When I got to Madison Square Garden everybody was looking at me. When I got back home I seen everybody and their mother in their video wearing a fuckinג€™ straw hat with a feather in it.

Tim Dog: ג€œWhat Kool Keith gonna wear? Iג€™m gonna do that shit in my video. Iג€™m gonna wear that shit really quick. Whatג€™s Tim Dog gonna wear?ג€

Battlecat as a producer is too underrated.

From Foesum article:
Wikipedia wrote:In 1986, DJ Glaze and MNMsta created a DJ group called "Perfection" and recruited members from their high school. The next three years "Perfection" as a DJ group rocked many school dances, weddings, and backyard boogies. By 1989, Perfection recruited close to a dozen members. Towards the end of Perfection's senior year, the group decided they wanted to produce their own rap record. Travvy Trav, one of the oldest members of the group went on a search for the dopest MC in Long Beach. Back then, it was a dude named Domino. Perfection recruited Domino and pitched in on the purchase of a Roland 808 drum machine to start making demos with the intention of getting a record deal. Dozens of songs were cut and members Tender D and Mellow D (now known as The Twinz) were brought into the group by T-Dubb and Travvy Trav, who are in real life, first cousins. After many disappointments and some personality conflicts, Domino stepped from the group leaving Perfection to fend for themselves. This sparked a collaboration with fellow eastsider Snoop Doggy Dogg called "'Let Em Understand Perfection" on a compilation album called "Please Pass The Mic" which was a diss track aimed at Domino for leaving. This explains the line by Snoop in Dr. Dre's Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang, "Perfection is perfected, so I let em understand."

Domino's second album was horrible, but I remember the title track had video that parodied Micheal Jackson, Coolio and Sir Mix-A-Lot:

<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lahZc0IHplk?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lahZc0IHplk?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Also, I saw this posted on King Tee's Facebook page recently, and was surprised to see Domino on the line-up:

alright big boss lucciano.. that makes more sense.. i don't think he sounds that much like snoop dogg and i guess that's not what the beef was over.. both are obviously dope though.. he better be a legend after that first album (@Mark 563 ).. also if the second album is anything like that single id be satisfied..

First LP was never pulled. Technically, neither was the second but, Rush dropped Outburst from the Def Jam tree and that was the end of that.
