1. Soulsville
2. Soulsville (S.I.D.'s Soul Mix)
3. Children Of The Corn
4. Children Of The Corn (Dub)
5. Venture On

Also for some strange reason, the CDS Soulsville SID Soul Mix is an alternate version different from the VLS. Itג€™s longer but missing a verse or two. I included a youtube rip of the 12ג€ rmx courtesy of TROY fam Ho1ogramz, so youג€™ll be able to hear the difference for yourself.
 aleph I have not heard any of this since the 90's, I remember digging the album too, does anyone have that please?

I'll go even further and say it's pretty dull overall, Earl Blaize's beats rarely go beyond meh and Sha-Key doesn't fulfill her potential as a quasi-female version of Acey or Mikah 9. She should have made something at least as interesting as anything that came out of LA/The Good Life in 94. The Soulsville remix is pretty much the only thing I bump on the regular these days

word I also think "Venture On" is much better than anything on the LP.

Strength Magazine presents Mr. Dibbs 1200 Prophecies

Post by Maceo1ne »

Hey everybody, it has been awhile since I have posted. Some of you know me, most of you donג€™t, some of you donג€™t like me, but I have been looking for a tape for almost fifteen years since it disappeared from my Walkman. I need T.R.O.Y.ג€™s help because I donג€™t know where else I would go!!!!! There is absolutely no mention of it anywhere online except for on a few blogs where I have posted in search of it. I am prepared to offer somebody up near $1000 for this tape depending on condition, if it is a dub, etc. YES, one THOUSAND dollars. If someone can rip it I will pay a pretty penny as well. My good old friend and I are trying hard to piece this thing together. Back in ג€˜97 or ג€˜98 I borrowed it and kept it through his demands to have it back. Unfortunately, soon after I lost it and made it a sad situation. He traded a few things for this tape with a dude playing it at this shop in Colorado back then. It had something to do with this old skate/snow mag called ג€˜Strength Magazineג€™. The magazine is long out of print. There was a release of a Mr. Dibbs mixtape (under 1200 Hobos, many may know Dibbs to be Slugג€™s dj now, but there is a large gap in his discography in the mid-late 90ג€™s). Itג€™s called ג€˜Strength Magazine presents, 1200 Propheciesג€™. Now this isnג€™t the compilation of various that had something to do with the magazine from around 2000. It is really from right around 97 and was probably packaged with the magazine like the Wu tape some of you may have, which came with some skate magazine if I recall correctly. Thanks for taking the time to read this bs and apologies for being long-winded. Get back to me, anybody, please.

...and I'm sorry, it's been awhile. I know this is probably not supposed to be posted here. It is in trades and requests too now. If whoever handles this wants to delete or move this, please do...

Yeah, great question. I knew that was coming. I know it is pretty toolbag to be offering money...especially that much, but in my defense it is a vital piece of nostalgia for us. Recently got back in touch with him and he put me onto everything. Paying homage, if you will.

Tracklist is surely common to everyone here, it was more so aspects of the mix, the memories associated with it, and that it disappeared so mysteriously. The trade for it was also quite ridiculous.

Should also mention that I feel like I will get little to no response or help without something in return. It is obviously rare to point that there is nothing about it anywhere online and I have found maybe one person who recalls this tape's existence. I have searched for hours online. Even got into contact with John Doe (1200 Hobos) to ask him and apparently even Dibbs does not remember the tape. Does that help?
