World Renown's LP

Post by skater4041 »

So I was lucky enough to buy myself a copy of this off discogs:

http://www.discogs.com/World-Renown-Unt ... se/1396122

I initially picked it up because I wanted that unreleased track 'World Renown', produced by Marley. I've only played the first track 'Don't Trust Your Man' and expected it to be the same as the incomplete copy that's been floating around the internet for the past few years. It's a completely different mix, no clue if it's blackcat on production?

Anyways, I'm gonna get to uploading the whole LP hopefully later tonight after I install the software and whatnot.

Peace

hahaha word. The LP wasn't recorded with the greatest quality though.

I'm on the last track of side A and the only track so far that's pretty spotty is come take a ride. Luckily everyone's got that as a single anyways.

Here's what I got:

edit (improved quality): http://www.sendspace.com/file/5v6gsh

Although it's spotty here and there, I'd say the quality is better than what's already out there. Plus, there's the unreleased skits and tracks! Mind Over Math is actually a complete track (3:57) unlike the 0:57 length that it shows on the LP. I guess this was just put together as a shitty promo LP.

Enjoy

edit: rip is unlistenable - sounds tinny...

Hope your LP isn't pressed like this.

yeah the audio fades in and out constantly but the vinyl is still in very good shape, physically. Roll Wit It also starts skipped in on my vinyl too, ridiculous.

yeah, shame about the sound. I've tried to play around with it but can't make much difference even with hard limiting which I thought might solve the volume fluctuations. strange that the whole thing is in mono, but the tracks k-def released a couple of yrs back weren't (iirc)... the sound almost makes me think you've got a cable loose somewhere on your turntable?

thanks for uploading though, still interesting to check these unheard bits...

The only joint I have from them is the How Nice I Am single by K-Def that 2dopeboyz released in a compilation last year. Will check the rest of this out though. Thanks.

alternatively here are the tracks K-Def put up a couple of years back. sound quality's much better (not perfect), and they're in stereo.

How Nice I Am and Long Jev from this comp aren't on the LP skater4041 upped. the versions of Don't Trust Your Man and Shoowa also sound like they have different beats. the tracks World Renown, Mind Over Math, and the skits from skater4041's LP are not on here either, and the version Of Come Take a Ride is the West Coast Vibe remix.

I'll definitely look into that later today, I'm super amateur at this stuff but I'll see what I can do about that audacity setting.

Alright, I ditched the software that came with my recorder and used audacity for the whole process.

I think this sounds much better, here's the first track:

I'll do the rest of the LP this way. I hope this is more listenable for you guys

Thanks for the upload, I've been waiting to hear the whole LP for awhile. I'm gonna still look to buy a copy on vinyl too. A remastered CD/LP version of the album should be Redefinition's next project, I'll send them this suggestion today since we follow each other on Twitter.

wow, much thanks for this everyone... i thought there only was one version of this out, but i always liked it, gonna be interesting to hear this alternative mixes and everything. the one that is on discogs is from what i remember only featuring all tracks K-Def and Blackcat did. i think Marley didn't want anything to do with it that's why....

i can't remember the emcees name right now, but one of them was Marley's cousin and the other one was K-Def's cousin.

cheers again for this thread!
