Re: The WBLS/KISS/WHBI Thread
I am dling all via the program he suggested. It's working pretty well. I have about 55% of the folders downloaded. It seems to take a break every once in a while for a bit, then resume and a few of the links in the middle have been skipped over. I am hoping to have them all by Monday. Will see where we on then and start to up some individuals as requested.

Ok, so the single zips can be extracted, but the ones in parts cannot.
So 48.rar can be extracted.
But, 37.part1.rar cannot.
I copied all the links and the status said 100% downloaded, so not sure what I am missing or doing wrong.

Re: The WBLS/KISS/WHBI Thread
make sure that you're only clicking files ending with "part1.rar" and the ones that don't have the word 'part' in them. here's a picture of how this should look like.
once you have selected all those files that are pictured above, right click on any one of the ones you have highlighted (in the picture, i right clicked on fewmore.part01). Then select "extract here" from the menu and it will extract all the archives for you in that same directory whee you have all these files.
i use winrar to extract files, you can get it here: http://winrar.soft32.com/free-download? ... Mgod53AAZw but you should be able to do that with any program that can extract a rar archive.
older versions of winrar might give you weird/random error msg. the password is working, i tested it out and serch confirmed that it works. i have the file names encrypted meaning you can't even see what's in the archives if you entered the password incorrectly, so if you can actually see the folder names of what's inside the archives, that means the password is good.

Yeah, my shit don't look like that. Plus even when I go to extract from a part 1, it says there are files missing. Unless everything did not download, but I copied all your links and it said 100%.
Oh well.
Oh well.

Re: The WBLS/KISS/WHBI Thread
if you don't download all the links for each show, it won't extract.

NOTES FROM ALEPH: Did this rip last week but needed some serious amplification and noise removal at the end of side 1 and the start of side 2. Atrocious sounding 6 minutes in the middle but better than it was. Really wanted to salvage what sounds like a Skinny Boys promo for CC. Maybe it’ll turn up on another tape.

This is really, really phenomenal. I love how the commercials are in tact. I know it was debated earlier in the topic, but definitely keep them on. Really helps to take you back to the time and place. Can't say enough great things. If there's anything I can do to help this project, please let me know. I owe you guys big time.nobs wrote:Chuck Chillout and Red Alert July 87

While we're talking about BLS - does anyone have any of the Golden Era Radio episodes with Marley Marl and Roxanne Shante? I was only able to find 03/09/12 online:

Awesome Two on WHBI (80's)
Aleph Notes: Live tape of show @ Paramus Roller Skating Rink feat. Fresh 3 MCs and Divine Sounds. Once again, the input level was too low so I included two rips: the og with hiss and one without.

I took a one-man road trip this weekend and I probably would have gone crazy without these. Aleph and Nobs... can't say thanks enough times.
Re: The WBLS/KISS/WHBI Thread
The pleasure's as much mine as youse guys. There’s nothing like a 25-yr old radio show to immerse oneself in hiphop never never land.
To all you mid-to-late 80s connoisseurs/experts, let us know if you spot any rarities that were played. I know stuff like the Call Me D-Nice promo appeared somewhere before, but there’s a grip of joints that I never heard (or at least don’t remember hearing). Tracklists are welcome, too.

atlantiswasreal, can you re-up the links that are down? thanks
Re: The WBLS/KISS/WHBI Thread
Hate to bump an old topic, but are there any plans to add some more WBLS/KISS shows to the thread? I listen to these shows literally all the time.
