DJ Mark The 45 King - Put The Funk Out There LP (1999)

Post by WiCkEd22 »

Found this diggin earlier today (finally) for $10. It's pretty dope. I have all the 12" singles of these joints that 45 King put out on that Blazin label in the early 2000's, but I was wondering if all the songs on this LP were recorded in '98 and '99? The 45 King says this LP is from 1999. The first song "Check It Out" features Jay-Z & Lady Champain and it was actually featured on a Mister Cee mixtape in '98 (Lady Champion mentiones it bein '98 on the song). Who is Lady Champion? She's dope and kinda sounds familiar, but I'm not sure. On Discogs she's listed as just Champain. And a few of the songs mention '98...

Image Image Image

A1 - Check It Out (ft. Jay-Z & Lady Champain)
A2 - Put The Funk Out There (ft. Kid Capri & Big Pooh)
A3 - Harlem Bros (ft. Big Pooh)
A4 - Latee Rocks Da Bells (ft. Latee)
A5 - Jersey State Of Mind (ft. Queen Latifah)
A6 - Roll With Me (ft. Big Pooh & Lady Champain)
B1 - Simplicity (ft. Chill Rob G, Humpty Hump & Big Pooh)
B2 - Super People (ft. Big Pooh & Lady Champain)
B3 - Wellcome To The Terrordome (ft. Big Pooh & Lady Champain)
B4 - On And On (ft. Terry Lorenz)
B5 - Double Dare (ft. Diamond D. & King Terribul)
B6 - Drop The Bomb (ft. Big Pooh & Lady Champain)

And it looks like the TROY blog featured this record back in 2008...

And Unkut...

And check the unkut comments for some thoughts on some of these tracks.

yeah i remember when there was some singles off this at The Sound Library or Fat Beats. Lati Rocks The Bells is the real stand out track, while the beat for the Latifah joint is dope and the horns on the Simplicity cut are great. The rest of it is pretty not memorable, imo.

This track is also missing:
B6 - Drop The Bomb (ft. Big Pooh & Lady Champain)

I took the Jay-z track from this comp that was posted on the TROY blog, edited out Lady Champain, and manually de-clicked it.
I just wanted to add it to my Jay-Z folder, so I thought it might come in handy for some ppl

Here you go...

actually, on the discogs listing:
discogs wrote:A1 Drama (Check It Out)
Featuring – Champaygne
that looks like it's probably the same as the first track on this 45 king album. not sure about the other tracks tho.
