Ill Style Live 1995 (video?!)

Peace fam. So i'm sure most of us know about this Ill Style Live Elektra showcase, featuring Juggaknots, Omniscence, ODB, 8 Off, Supernatural, etc from 95. Of course this was recorded with selected segments/performances released on vinyl and CD back then.

Is the full video footage of this entire show available or has it ever been?

If not, is this something yall would want to see?

Afaik, this was not a public show, more of an industry insider, label type of jam. People were judged and put on or dropped and feelings were hurt, maybe not in that exact order.

ps.. there's more artist performances than the ones you see on the records and CDs. Good ones.

ok. my buddy been doing a public access show thats full of random footage, from old 2 Pac interviews to old live shows including parts from the Ill Style live thing. There one with ODB I'll see if he has that and see if l Can get some links in here. l dont think he' ll just part with the full Ill Style show but I'll see what l can do.

Something I always wondered about on the recording of the event was the Juggaknots song 'I'm Gonna Kill You' - it sounds like it is being played off a record (it sounds exactly the same as the version of the song on the Juggaknots EP) with some audience sounds added in the background, as opposed to all the other songs which definitely sound like live performances.

Something I always wondered about on the recording of the event was the Juggaknots song 'I'm Gonna Kill You' - it sounds like it is being played off a record (it sounds exactly the same as the version of the song on the Juggaknots EP) with some audience sounds added in the background, as opposed to all the other songs which definitely sound like live performances.

Since a lot of Rappers are using their vocal versions for live shows, I assumed maybe they pushed the concept to its extreme, which means using their song as a playback with their mics off. I'm 100% sure their song is the studio version played in public, and not a live performance.

Thanks, glad I'm not the only one who hears it. Juggaknots never struck me as the type of group to lip-sync, so my guess is that maybe they didn't have the instrumental available on the night and this was the only option.

Yeah man, i saw Juggaknots perform live probably over 5 times back in the mid 90s and they never lip-synched, in fact, their stage presence and energy was always high and dope. It sucks that this issue happened at this particular venue because from what i'm told, certain artists(im not sure who) lost deals over poor performances that night. I can't help but think, well....

^ Very possible, though they dropped most of their roster except for Ol Dirty and Das Efx anyway. Omni, Deda, Juggaknotz, 8 Off, Supernatural etc, crazy.

Classic moment on the record is Ol Dirty cursing out the DJ - 'Don't sabotage my shit, talking about devils... oh shit, that's Pete Rock!?'
