Thanks Jaz! Didn't have the Mel-low joints.

Strangely, Keith Murray's "Dip Dip Di" is credited to Redman on the 12" , while on the album it's credited to Erick Sermon and Rod "KP" Kirkpatrick..

Nice thread Jaz, Red still seems underrated for his production and I think part of it could have been because his personality as an MC is so huge.

Kinda sad how record corps used to exploit kids like this now that I think back to the early 90's. Youngsters shouldn't be rockin ice grills if they don't have to but unfortunately in my neighborhood that's how it was in reality at the time. I come from kids of the Crack generation like Illegal and Chi-Ali, the other kiddie hard rock groups were questionable and seemed more like a gimmick than representing reality.

Ah man, thanks Jaz. never heard the Mel Low stuff. Deepest Redman I ever got into was that Humanreck album that was advertised in the source for 5 years straight. Did Red produce "Smoke a Blunt Too" w/ tame or "I Get Down like That" w/ Roz ?

Jaz huge thanks for this fam... i was starting to collect Redman's productions as well during a period i was listening to a lot of "Dare Iz A Darkside" and "Muddy Waters"... it struck me that often Red's productions were even iller than Sermon's. i Think i could never find that Me-Low stuff so that's super appreciated, thanks again!

i Believe there might be even more Mel-Low / Redman tracks, didn't he drop a promo cassette that had no production credits and then the 12" of tracks from that is where we learned it was Redman? might be wrong... he also had two of the hardest beats on that "Blackout!" album with Meth, both interludes but fucking nasty.. come to Think about it, he might have produced that track "The ?" too which was insane too

also OT - what is your favorite Reggie Noble beat?

Excellent choice for a thread! Also I'd love to see a similar thread with KRS-One. I sort of put him in the same category as Redman when it comes to extremely underrated producer/mc's from the 90's. I suppose you could also put Inspectah Deck in the list as well. I'll add this song to the cause:

Shyheim & Jamal - Still Fades'em All (prod. Redman)

No more Sasso. Now everybody call me Ron!
