glad you're enjoying this!! it's a real shame they never produed more under the Groove Merchantz name (as in together) - the Kurious joint, Bas Blasta shit and the "One Love" remix especially is just amazing. i wonder if any of the other songs on that Bas Blasta promo cassette was by them?

something interesting about V.I.C. is that he did a lot of production credited as The Beatnuts, he was in that group for a while but funny enough i pretty much never, ever heard JuJu or LES talk about his part in interviews. i recently found an interview with Fashion (Al' Tariq) where he said he was still cool with Psycho Les but that he never, ever, will work with JuJu again.

one track in particular that V.I.C. did under The Beatnuts name that he should have gotten a bit more credit for imo is the amazing Fat Joe / NORE joint "Misery Needs Company". the album booklet gives credit to "The Beatnuts & Ghetto Pro's" but if you read the writing credits you realize that V. Padilla is the only credited producer so it probably should read "Produced by The Mighty V.I.C. of Beatnuts & Ghetto Pros".

downloading part 2 right now, good shit, always been a fan of these guys separately and together. Anyone have a high quality rip of this Vic beats record on Opposition Records? If not, once I get a new computer I'll rip it, there's at least one beat on there that's fkn phenomenal:

I know I've got those 3 records on the left (VIC, Invisible and Psycho), they've been on my list to record forever.

i noticed i made a mistake on Vol. 2 - i included Brick City Kid's self-titled A-side from their 12" on both volumes... i was supposed to include the B-side "What What" on Volume 2 (both produced by VIC & JuJu).. here it is tagged properly, so you can just change tracks in the folder and it will play properly on your iPods, phone or whatever you're using!

Can you fix your link when you get a second? Seems to go nowhere.
