King Tee-thy kingdom come - The aborted Dre/Aftermath album.
..is pretty good actually
and definately worthy of a thread.
This was gonna come out on Aftermath in '97 or '98
but never dropped due to the negative reponse the Dre "aftermath" got
i dunno, i always thought the 5 or 6 joints that Dre actually produced on that album were ridiculous.
But whatever
the Dre produced tracks like "money", "da kron", "speak on it", "reel raw", "big ballin'" and "where's t?" are all classic Dre 3d-soundin' productions.
'Member the Dre and L.L "zoom zoom" cut with the "get retarded" chorus?
the beat was first used on here on a joint called "6 n' na moe'nin".
Add to that you got a track with 'G Rap with an ill vocal sample chorus
some Battlecat beats
a verse from Shaq on a track
and you got an album that's worthy of yer loot.
While we're here and discussin' Dre,
"2001".. is it as good as "the chronic" ?
i'd say - hell yes.
2 questions
-Where did you pick it up?
-Would you recommend it to fans of The Triflin' Album?

Funny this was brought up, as I was pretty surprised to find it used a few days ago.
I'll rip/upload it later for anyone who wants it.
The tracks are all complete on my copy, which is the same as posted above.Combo7 wrote:You don't happen to own the above-pictured pressing on CD, do you? Because I got the German bootleg that Sandbox was selling a while back for free and the last couple seconds of each track are cut off. Just wondering if the two are different.

^ Nah.
The "xxplosive" beat was originally gonna be a Royce track on "2001" but Royce blew up Dre's spot in an interview about ghostwriting for him so him and Dre fell out
Royce ghostwrote "the message".
I think i read Dre did 2 or 3 beats for Royce
anybody got any of 'em?
i never really payed much attention to him
hook 'em up.

Yeah re-up this link so I can see how it is. I heard it was tight and you can cop it at www.sandboxautomatic.com.
i don't know if y'all have this, but here's the lead single, "Got It Locked", from the original aftermath version Thy Kingdom Come, which for some reason isn't on the bootlegged version of the album.
i remember this vid getting some mild burn on yo mtv raps and rap city back in summer of 1998 when the lp was set to drop but faded away soon after. after seeing this video and not really feeling it so i was kinda apathetic towards KT's upcoming album. at the time, that was one lp that i wasn't really mad about being shelved.
but anyway here it is...
King Tee - Got It Locked (Prod. Dr. Dre)
and here's the other track from the original lp not on the released version.
King Tee - Drama
and royce and dre didn't fall out because of royce saying shit in an interview, it actually was royce's manager who was his childhood friend who said some shit about ghostwriting for dre and dre and em's demeanor in the studio that fucked things up. dre gave royce an ultimatum, either drop your manager or we're through and royce chose his manager. stupid fuckin choice imo but at least he's loyal i guess.

Dope thread, I bought the album with the cut-off tracks, and it kinda makes it unlistenable. I remember the day I found it in a little store in a shitty small town in the UK. I couldn't believe my eyes cos I didn't realise it had ever dropped, and as soon as I started listening it was pretty obvious that it was an unofficial release - not great sound quality and endings cut off most tracks. Fucking irritating.
