Sounds like a capital prick. I haven't even heard this song, but I like what I've heard so far from Snagglepuss.
No more Sasso. Now everybody call me Ron!

"my style is bold like gays in a parade"

I kinda liked him
particularly as a member of The Bounce Squad on the old Doo Wop mixtapes
last i heard of him was a freestyle on that Doo Wop mix with the red cover from, like, 2 years back
i think i got "i like it" on an old tape somewhere.

Some Snagglepuss gossip :

He's Pudgee Tha Phat Bastard's cousin
and there's a full unreleased Snagglepuss album collecting dust somewhere that's unlikely to ever come out.

He appeared on shit with Tha Liks, Brand Nubian and Pugee...
Check this out
the story goes that it isn't actually Snagglepuss on that 'Liks joint
it's really a cat called Kodiak, who was a friend of Tha Liks from L.A, with a very similar style.

Whoever originally put that joint out on white label didn't know this and thought it was Snagglepuss and put his name on there.

^ that maybe the case, but it is definitely snaggle.

he even says it in his verse "snagglepuss edged in stone so you can read it."

If i'm honest, i can't even remember the song as i haven't heard it in years
but i read that in an interview with someone or other and a few people i know have also said it's true.

It might not be true, i guess
but i like the idea that it is.

i have this on tape (along with a bunch of other snagglepuss stuff (freestyles from radio shows, songs, etc)

ill go through a crate or two of the tapes i have and see if i can find it... it seriously is needle in haystack situation tho, but i might get lucky... and chances are when looking for one thing, ill probably find 10 other "cool and forgotten" things worthwhile...

ill check it today, because i have shit i should be doing but im searching for things to use for procrastination purposes... so ima go look right now

want anything from thesE??

Post by Cryptic One »

k so i went through 2 crates of my old tapes looking for the snagglepuss tape... didnt listen to any of them yet but i didnt find any that were labled with snagglepuss

but i did find a bunch that have alot of natural elements stuff on it... also found 7 or 8 stretch & bobbito shows... a couple of red alert and chuck chillout shows from october of 1988... as well as a mr magic show from '88... the future sound's LP, some jemini the gifted one... and a bunch of other "various NYC radio" shit from the early 90s, which im guessing is alot of 89.1 WNYU and 89 tech 9 stuff

im gonna try and go through them this weekend and dump some into the computer

anything in particular of interest from the above?

is this the shelved Tommy Boy Black album?

i think the natural E stuff i have is a bunch of freestyles from 89.1 (mr mayhem the natural e dj was the host of a show there, so they were ALWAYS on)
