a vision of what i'm gonna upload

"Fat Tape expertly explores a much overlooked era in hip-hop: the late 80s/early 90s before the hip-hop marketing machine was in effect. It's either gonna be something quite obscure, or something that you would never give a second glance at in a dollar crate- I never even heard of half the stuff on here.
Sloppy sheds light like black jesus...
Did I mention the mixing is excellent?"

Turntable Lab

"The king of the random/lost rap mixtape, gains another belt here... king of mixtape execution. For his third CD, he gives you straight-up, a mini truck mud flap CD holder (yes mudflap!). We're talking actual nuts and bolts, reflective strip, thick board that looks like rubber, and silk-screened trucker graphics. The CD is attached to the backside, and features artwork of a big rig chrome wheel. As for the music, you're asking the wrong guys. Only a minute handful of nerdus will be familiar with the tracklisting of obscure hip-hop; but for the mix construction, you know Sloppy comes extra-detailed with added dialogue."
Turntablelab.com

"Sloppy's mixtapes are the DJ-mixed equivalent of random rap audioblogs like Cocaine Blunts and Hip Hop Tapes, digging out forgotten gems from the Golden Era no one else remembers. Get Some definately doesn't disappoint... Applaud this man."
XLR8R Magazine

"It's gotta be the bomb - the Super Villain MF DOOM wouldn't give me my copy back!" - Eothen "Egon" Alapatt (Stones Throw Records)

"I have three sinister syllables for you..."it's the shit!" - Phil Stroman aka the Soulman

Dj Signify Presents: Teach The Children Vol. 1

year : 2003
256 kbps
132mb
Image

Ed from Sandbox:

"From the newly formed GrandGood label out of NYC, comes the first new CD in years from 1200 Hobos and Anticon affiliate DJ Signify, who previously brought you the hit mixes "Signifying Breaks" and "Mixed Messages". The inaugural volume of what promises to be a ongoing series of classic hip-hop collections, "Teach The Children" is a new take on the crop of 'golden era' rap blends which have been popping up over the last few years. But instead of rehashing the same radio hits of the 90's like Tribe Called Quest, EPMD, De La Soul, Brand Nubian, Public Enemy and so forth (all dope shit...but perhaps a bit played out now?), Signify digs deeper to unearth obscure b-sides and album cuts which were not released as singles. Have you forgotten about UMC's "Never Never Land", Original Flavor "Can I Get Open", Zhigge "Rakin In The Dough", Ultramagnetic MC's "Checkin My Style", Future Sound "What's A Bro To Do", Saafir "Can You Feel Me" and other trainspotter essentials? Get them all here, 21 tracks total, many of which are rarely ever seen on CD format. And of course, everything is expertly blended and cut up by one of turntablism's best of the underground."

Kool G Rap & Polo - Letters
Eric B. & Rakim - Teach The Children
UMC's - Never Never Land
Freestyle Fellowship - Way Cool
Original Flavor (feat. Jay-Z) - Can I Get Open
The Jaz - Hypocritters
Zhigge - Rakin' In The Dough
Grand Puba - Mind Your Business
Ultramagnetic MC's - Checkin My Style
Royal Fam - Summin Gotz To Give
Ghostface Killa - Mighty Healthy
The Future Sound - Lady/What's A Bro To Do?
Artifacts - Whayback
3rd Bass (feat. KMD) - Ace In The Hole
Freestyle Fellowship - Heat Mizer
Saafir - Can You Feel Me
K-Solo - Rock Bottom
Jemini The Gifted One - 50 Emcees In A Cypher
Big L - Let Em Have It 'L'
YZ - Crocodile Dundee
