kev, I've requested this before and exhausted all options.
There's a possibility that you may have or heard of this.
It was a demo played by Bobbito.
I believe it's this dude from Loop Troop, Timbuktu.
The hook was,"It's 9-5, ya'll, so look alive..."

So, I'm pretty sure this would be the title:

Timbuktu - Look Alive

Another couple of demos Bobbito played that nobody else seems to have:
There was a crew or group called "The See'ers"(not sure on the spelling).
There's was two demos I remember from them that were reallll ill.

For one the hook was:
"Don't Fuck With I, unless you wanna die,
this is not a game, mothafucker you could die."
And it sampled the intro organ riff of Ohio Players' "Can You Feel It".

The other one from them, I believe was also an Ohio Players sample.
The hook on that went something like this:
"I could push through your whole crew to get to you..."

And as some extra info(this should excite the elitists):
The guy on Camouflage Large's "Hitmen Holdin' Steel" on the last verse,
sounds just like one of the guys from "The See'ers".
Pretty sure there affiliated.
So that would be:
The See'ers - "Don't Fuck With I"
The See'ers - "Push Through Ya Crew"

Aww fuck it, while I'm at it:
Terror Green - "Check The File"
This is the guy that had that "45 Stitches[for a bitch]" demo that Bob
played. If you need that one, I got it, but "Check The File" is a tough one.
I used to badger Bobbito on the reg about playing that one again.
He never did.
Also, this one was produced by Dj Nastee.

And what the helll:
Twiz - Spaceman Spiff EP
Released early this decade, maybe 2001, neither Twiz nor Maleeto, who
produced it, even have mp3s of this.
Allegedly only about 50 copies pressed, I had two tracks from Stretch n Bob.

Iג€™ve been listening to this for the last week or so and I know people were asking for actual Unsigned Hype demos here at the beginning of the year:

Courtesy of the DJ Premier Blog:

J Rock ג€“ Unsigned Hype Demo Tape ג€“ 1990 (192 CBR)

http://rapidshare.com/files/320779989/J ... _1990_.rar

Intro
The Messiah (Demo)
Letג€™s Get It Together (Demo)
Streetwize (Demo)
Cazanova (Demo)
Drug Dealer (Demo)
Outro

Image

These original demo versions are the first songs J Rock recorded (that we / I know about), a year before the release of his only album and three singles.

So basically all the recordings people have heard of J Rock ג€˜til now have been from ג€™91 and these are the only songs he recorded that predated that (plus I donג€™t think he recorded anything after so his entire discography is only from ג€™90 to ג€™93 anyway).

J Rock was also in a group called Def Row with Paul Nice & DJ Joey T. I think P was also in Naba Hoodthreat but i'm not sure.

That's very true, good point, I was more talking about his solo stuff. I'd definitely like to hear some of that Def Row material though.

This is J Rock's full LP Streetwize

I'm pretty sure Def Row never recorded anything, I know a couple people that can get in touch with Joey T so if I find anything else i'll post.

According to Paul Nice (with regards to Def Row):

"We recorded about 5 tracks at Calliope. Never did anything with them. Hopefully they'll stay buried too!"

It's been a minute so I've added to this thread so I thought I'd throw this up there: Rhyme Poets-Nation Within A Nation EP

http://rapidshare.com/files/329007117/R ... ets_EP.zip

Here's something I wrote about them on my Time Travel Blog:

Rhyme Poets 1989: I still remember the day I brought this tape. Iג€™m pretty sure itג€™s the first and one of the few times I ever bought a tape from a dude on the street selling their own material (the only other one I can remember doing that with is Thig-A-Ma-Jig). I was on my way to Columbia College for some reason or another and a dude approached me about his tape, it looked interesting enough so I picked it up. This is pretty clearly influenced by Public Enemy, as many crews were at this timeג€¦musically and lyrically. The tape is 8 tracks, but 3 of the tracks are remixes. Thereג€™s some long songs here too with 6 of them clocking in over 6 minutes. This is the longest joint, just shy of 9 minutes. All the MCs are solid with good flows and writing. Iג€™d be curious to hear any other material they might have did. I donג€™t remember ever seeing them live or hearing anything else about them. Itג€™s possible some of the 7 members did other projects but the B&W cover is difficult to make out anyone well enough to recognize. All in all, this quality material.....

If any one is interested I did a "rare" update of the Time Travel Page with 10 new demos. Including rarities from East Of The Rock, S.P.O, O Type Star, Mental Giants, Psalm One, Spalaney's, etc...

[quote="Verge"]I been looking for this demo that Bobbito played called "I Walk The Line".

If you didn't find it elsewhere, here it is (although you would've no doubt shared it if you did).

Not sure of the spelling of the group's name though. (ShoTyme?)
This demo went up against Dysfunctional Fam's Feelin' Da Highs and Binkis' Beat You in the Head that night.
You can guess which won.

Thanks a bunch for that man, I had no idea Arch Leon and Jay Block recorded anything beyond Doublespeek, let alone more with Stoupe.

And I hate to be "that guy" but for whoever downloads this successfully, can you mirror it somewhere other than RapidShare? It's being deathly slow for me today for whatever reason.

Also, while I'm requesting things, can anybody tell me where exactly this side a is? I just searched real quickly and didn't see anything.

Thanks.

I just looked again, I'm sure I'm missing something but still never found that Neso side a. Anybody wanna let me know where it is?

RapidShare started working at normal speeds again for me so here's a mirror of side b for whoever wants one:

Hell yes!
Pretty sure Binkis won, but it was close with Dysfunkshunal. I might be
wrong because I know Binkis won a lot of those demo battles at that time.

Thanks a lot, aleph. I have a record by a group called "Olestra" that uses
the same sample, but I knew it was different, I knew I wasn't buggin.

Thanks for that Organized Why demo, too. I completely forgot about that
one. I think I only ever heard that shit once.

Thanks again.

No prob fellas, glad you enjoy it

Binkis DID win that nite Verge, and if memory serves (which means 50-50) it was a second round win, meaning they won the previous battle but I don't remember who the competition was. Maybe if Fondle 'Em stuck around longer Bob would've given Showtime their due as well.

As for the Organized track, I think everyone who was lucky enough to catch it heard it only once due to sample clearance issues. But then there might be tapes of old shows yet to be uploaded that'll prove me wrong. I was mad disappointed when I bought the album and heard the "naked" version.

^ YEah, a good amount of the demos around that time Bob did help
get some shine, so they probably would have gotten on a Fondle 'Em joint, if
it was possible. It's a shame he couldn't get any of the older demos(aside
from a few) out on Fondle 'Em. Like the Terror Green, etc.. Legendary label
though.

This here I separated from a tape that RELM(thanks RELM) ripped and upped
in the "Mapping Out the Stretch n Bobbito show" thread:

I remember asking Brewin why this didn't make it onto the Re:Release
and I believe he said he didn't have the DAT or whatever anymore. I
could be wrong. I'd also love to get the complete version of "Luvamaxin"
with the Tony Bones verse.

Good lookin, RELM and Verge.

Next up:

At the risk of reopening an old wound (which is why I'm burying it in this thread rather than putting it in a new one) here is a cut that might be on that notorious Rampage Red Oktoba tape. His appearance on KCR was in 92 and his freestyle from that night was already posted in one of those Freestyle Frenzy comps (I think). What doesn't seem likely is that if the LP was supposed to drop in 94, he would've included a two year old track on it. Shit like that is simply not done in hip hop. Could be just a demo version.
