At the risk of reopening an old wound (which is why I'm burying it in this thread rather than putting it in a new one) here is a cut that might be on that notorious Rampage Red Oktoba tape. His appearance on KCR was in 92 and his freestyle from that night was already posted in one of those Freestyle Frenzy comps (I think). What doesn't seem likely is that if the LP was supposed to drop in 94, he would've included a two year old track on it. Shit like that is simply not done in hip hop. Could be just a demo version.

Something from The Greatest Man Alive. Ripped from a KCR show from 98; it's the closest I've come to hearing something solo from him. Shame this wasn't on The Sequel (released the following yr). It would have easily been the dopest thing on it.

Let's not get back talking about that. Dude wanted 50 people to pay $60hellriser wrote:where is a guy with a tape... wasnt he here before?K-Funk wrote:ah shit man...this is mad dope but again i'm pissed off that no one is sharing the "Red Oktoba"album.
each, in advance, for a CDR of the album.
It'll surface eventually.
People have their reasons for holding on to stuff that they didn't create.
I just don't get it. If I didn't create something and the artist no longer stood
to profit from it, you can be guaranteed I will share it here.
EDIT: Plus I can't see anything on the album being as dope as what Aleph
posted above.
But I never heard the album, so I could be very, very wrong.

Yep. With absolutely none of the dough going to the artist.
It's like certain people don't share what they have because they feel
that these rarities kinda make them who they are or something.
Like,"who? oh the dude with so and so demo or album.."
They might think that if they share it, people will forget who they are the next
day. If that's so, then they have an agenda or want to capitalize off of
someone else's art. It's really wack, honestly.
I mean, so what, you have a tape?
You didn't produce it or rhyme on it, share it.
Or have it pressed up and sold and give the artist their cut.
What happens if they get hit by a car tomorrow?
Then nobody ever gets to hear the music that they didn't even make.
I've tried to see it from their perspective but I really see no excuse for it.
It's not even like they have to part with the physical item.
Aaaand some of them don't even really like what they're hoarding away.
Ehh...everything surfaces eventually and then what they have will be
worthless in their eyes.

Most likely the earliest freestyle I recorded. LONS in "The Operating Room" w/Dre, Ed Lover and T Money. Busta busts part of the verse he would use on Kane's Come On Down. Charlie and Dinco are great too, what chemistry. "That was def!"

So I was listening to Stretch & Eli's DMS set the other night which sparked this flashback. One of Stretch's signatures on KCR was to seamlessly segue Latifah's King & Queen Creation into the 45 King test pressing w/his verse over a reworked Fatback (This Cut's Got Flava) beat, making listeners like me think it was an actual remix joint. I searched fruitlessly for many years after.
Inspired by my fond memory for this non-existent track I took the liberty of fusing them together, Stretch Armstrong stylee. Not entirely seamless, but enjoy it anyway.

SO much good stuff in this thread, I need to get caught up but it's hard. I defintely think there should be an audio archive setup like soundcloud designated just for Phila Flava.

Here is a freestyle by Courageous Chief from 1992:

Cenobites - You Lose Into How The Fuck You Get A Deal Demo
All I know is I found this on limewire when I was 12 under the name "Ultramagnetic MC's How The Fuck You Get A Deal" I changed it to what I believe it is. Its in WMA format cause I tried touching it up a few years ago.
It's been sitting on my HD for awhile and I assume its a demo

Thanks Bleach. I'm moving this to the "demos, rarities" sticky.
