Trying to ID and then find this cut that samples The Who's Baba O'Riley
and has this line:

"Lyrically I bust a slug out my rap pistol / and lock this down when

I Jadakiss you"

I know it's not Jadakiss or The Lox.

It had a single and was on his album "The Natural".
Shouldn't be too tough to find on google.

EDIT: Oh damn, I was on the last page, didn't realize it was id'ed.

This is an id request from 45ReC:
I remember this track very well, it's on the tip of my tongue :pause: , but
I just can't id it for shit. It's labeled Juggaknots demo, but it's not them.
It's a crew from Delaware and I'm pretty positive it's not a demo, it had a
single or was possibly on an album.
I'm fuckin stumped and I know someone will id this within seconds of hearing
it...

^ Hez - The Zip

Damn, this went for a lot more than I was willing to dish out last time on the bay. I remember when it was going for a fraction of the price it is now. Shoulda grabbed it then. What a dope female emcee. Asked this before sometime last year, anyone have ANY info on her?

tough to guess whether prices will eventually drop off or continue climbing.

from Hip Hop Fanatic...not really T.R.O.Y. sorry (although I don't know what year the original instrumentals are from)

I've been racking my brain trying to identify the instrumentals used in the tracks found in the following link. Can anyone help please??? Here is what little information I do have...

1) Sean Price Freestyle (2003)
2) Ruste Juxx Freestyle (2004) The orig to this I believe had Nate Dogg on it to some extent
3) Snyp Life (D Block) Freestyle (2004)
4) Killa Sha Freestyle (2004) - The orig was called "Fully Equipped" but have no idea the artist name. It could be an instrumental from a commercially released beat CD
5) Get Down (2003-2004) - Possibly an instrumental jacked from a Molemen or Jay Dee instrumental CD, I'm leaning towards Dilla but not certain.

Code: Select all

http://www.sendspace.com/file/3d4nyz
I am so grateful to anyone who can help that if you ID any beats

Since this is all from the 2000 era, I doubt I'll be of any help, but I'll give it a try.

EDIT: I have no clue.
The only one that I recognize the production sound is the Rustee Juxx one.
I can hear Prodigy rhyming on that beat. Not sure though.

thanks Verge, yeah I haven't download these freestyles yet so I have no idea what year the instrumentals originally came out.

It`s from Philly, released on Unique Entertainment 1997. Hez is in an abridged from Hezekiah ( this is the full name). All song are produced by herself. I sold 3 years ago copy for $ 35 . That`s it

Maybe the label was Philly but they are pretty obviously from, or at least
repping, Delaware. They say it numerous times. "This Delaware
suburbian..."... " New Castle, the code I reside 19720" That's the hook and
that's the Delaware zip code.
Don't just buy and sell the vinyl, listen to it. ;) Lolz, JK
Thanks for the extra info.

Does anybody know of a record called "Melanie" by an emcee known as Eric Pay or Eric Payday? I just heard it off a CM Famalam tape from '01; it's a takeoff on Eric B & Rakim's Mahogany. If it wasn't a release it should have been.

Another one I'm trying to ID has a chorus that goes:
"Y equals self, I gotta keep on, I gotta be born, and strive to make it, I can't fake it"

The last ID request of the night: A crew maybe called "Absent Minded Clique" on a track maybe called "My Perception" or "My Perspective" that definitely samples Roy Ayers' The Black Five. Around '95 or so.

I'll up them all if need be...

Yeah, man, the only one that rings a bell to me is the name Eric Payday.
But I don't know for sure.
I don't remember that Melanie track.
If nobody else knows them, uploading them should help.

aleph, since you were taping even after Stretch left then maybe you remember this track:
Bob played it sometime between 01 and 03. The hook was a sample of
Common from "the Light" saying "it had to be something for me to write this."
I can't remember much else, except it was about a chick in some way.

Isn't ringing any immediate bells but I'll be sure to be on the listen for it when I scour thru the files...

But damn Verge, for a man who lost all his tapes you retained a lot of memory from them like you're on some Ray-Bradbury-Fahrenheit-451-'We-become-the-books'-type-shit. You've become your tapes.

btw, I think I can help you on a couple of your old requests; I don't wanna say which ones until I find them. (Not the ones in your sig so don't get too hyped.) But be on the lookout.

Actually, the female didn't produce the tracks; Hez is a dude. I can't say if he's the guy who's rapping on these 2 tracks cause mc credits aren't given on the label. Names aren't even mentioned on the tracks. Just would've liked to know what the female's name is.

Back again, this time with the instrumental I recorded off the tail end of the March '95 WNYU show featuring The Roots live. The Weldon Irvine sample has been done to death but fortunately for me I never tire of it. I like the way it was blended with the vocal sample.

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/sh ... on=8,0,0,0" width="335" height="28" id="divplaylist"><param name="movie" value="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist? ... 375864-d0c" /><embed src="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist? ... 375864-d0c" width="335" height="28" name="divplaylist" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashpl ... d></object>

Does anyone know who made it? Whether it was released? Where the vocal comes from? So many questions

Aleph, you mean Donald Byrd sample, right? "Think Twice".
<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CmbcDDzHYAs&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CmbcDDzHYAs&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>
I feel the same about it.
Even something recent sampled it and I thought it was great.
J Live - Practice...maybe off a Marco Polo album.
But sorry, I don't what song that one is that you posted.

EDIT: Not that recent. Actually a Jazzy Jeff beat:

Dying to live, living to die...."
Someone here uploaded this awhile back.
I threw it on CD, but could never find the mp3 again.
So I have no idea and would also like to know.
I fuckin love that song.

Donald Byrd, right. What was Weldon Irvine's signature song (that is, as a sample)? Was it used in Award Tour?

Yeah, "We Gettin Down"-
<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LBe4gV5v6Y8&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LBe4gV5v6Y8&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>

But I don't remember the whole story about it. I'm not positive if they
sampled it or if they actually had Weldone play it over, cause I don't think a
clear piece of it to sample ever drops on the Weldon song.
