Definite Vacation 4 Suckas (Verbally Diseased): These were some ill cats. They would come down to my show semi-regularly. Rabeez was in a wheel chair, I only tell you that because it makes the song title, "Legless Be The Legacy" make sense. This is a tape they put out in '96, there is also a 12" but that doesn't thave the Sire Sensai solo, "One Shot, Two Shot". They had one other release that I know about that has the ill cut "Perfection".
One Shot, Two Shot is on the vinyl, but it's not listed. There's two versions of Blowin' Up The Spot on the A side and one on the B, the one on the B is actually One Shot, Two Shot.

Good lookin' on all this Chi stuff, some great joints.
word up. I didn't know that...obviously...ha.
Ha, well you know. I've had this record for several years and since I pretty much never fuck with the clean versions I had never listened to the A side. I had been thinking all along that the "Blowin' Up The Spot" on the B side was just the street version of "Blowin' Up The Spot" so when I downloaded the tape, I listened to "One Shot, Two Shot" and was like hold up that's on the vinyl, turns out I had been missing out for years on the title track.

So thanks for putting me on to a Verbally Diseased joint I had never heard, that I've had in my crates for over a decade.

-The B.U.M.S Demos:

For the first issue of Caught In The Middle we interviewed the B.U.M.S and they sent us a early copy of the album and it had a few tracks that didn't make the official release. One track, Outhouse Stunt, was on the Wake Up Show Unreleased Project. The other two I don't think came out anywhere and I actually forgot about until this week when I dug out the tape. First there is "Yes Yes Y'all" which is a solid track but the bugged out joint is the one I don't know the title of but features Motion Man and, out of nowhere, Maestro Fresh Wes!

D/L: http://www.sendspace.com/file/7mm9ja

-S.P.O. (I've been getting requests to post this and after the response of the last Rage Material, Brain Leakage, I figured it was time for some more). I briefly went to High School with S.P.O (Highland Park, IL) in '86. he wasn't rapping yet but was a hardcore rap fan. We would hang out and entertain people with me rapping and him cracking jokes. I moved to a different school but we staying in touch. One day he called to tell me he was rapping and wanted some beats. I was like, "sure, you're the homie"... I completely expected him to be like Bobby Jimmy cause of his sense of humor...ha He came hardcore and really impressed me.
Here's some cuts from his first two demos before he connected with Rubber Room. You can get more info, tracks, photos, bio, etc... from his Rage Myspace page: www.myspace.com/supremepoetical

D/L: http://www.sendspace.com/file/mjpxk1

If you enjoy this please drop a comment on the page or something. thanx.

-Stedy Serv: This dude is so ill. I first heard him on stage with his crew Unison (him and Discover in '92/'93). In '94 he dropped the ill demo and 12", "You Know the Time" with Andy C production. "You Know The Time" is just pure skills (features Tone B Nimble on the cuts), "Better Safe Than Sorry" is him rhyming from the perspective of the A.I.D.S Virus and is...well, ill...ha. "Life Of Luxury" is on the mellow tip, but still maintains his style and breaks down his ongoing journey from poverty to luxury.
After that he sort of disappeared for a while. In '99 he showed up at my radio show out of nowhere with a dat of like 6 tracks. He let me play one, "Lyrical Graffiti" and said he would get me a copy of it and others eventually...he never did. I don't think I ever saw him again. The cut we played is bonkers! I'm fiending to hear the others still. I have only been able to play it by jacking of the recording of that radio show. Here's all 4 of those cuts: http://www.sendspace.com/file/7btgv5

If you enjoy this then I strongly suggest you visit his myspace page and pick up his album that he released a couple years ago. It's some next levelness... www.myspace.com/stedyserv

ENJOY!

Kevin,
I'm ripping a molemen mixtape from '96 for the blog that will be featured in a few days and there's an exclusive track by Path of Underground Solution (produced by Panik)

Do you have any information on Path?

Oh hell yeah! I got that DJ Massacre mixtape w/ DJ 3rd Rail's name crossed out. I don't think I've listened to it in over a decade. I forgot all about that Path exclusive.

Undaground Soulution tracks are what I'm looking forward to more than pretty much anything else at the moment. Path is easily one of the dopest MCs in the history of Chicago hip hop.

I uploaded "Sandbox", "The Meaning", and "War Of The Words" in this thread a while back:

http://www.philaflava.com/forum/viewtop ... sc&start=0

Sandbox is from the "Talent Fest" compilation
The Meaning is from KB's "History Of Chicago" tapes (10+ hours)
War Of The Words is from KB's "Chicago Rarities" 3CD set

I'm also just hearing these for the first time courtesy of Redefinition Radio:

Good Fight Of Faith
I Journeyman
Mellow Acid

The archives on this site are a goldmine, but you can't actually find anything via a search.

As you can probably imagine, I am in heaven right now with all of these Chicago uploads.

Thanks, man. I see that this Prime rip made its internet debut in November.

"Sneak Preview" is the one that Kev used to play on the Time Travel show. Outstanding beat, great refrain, and decent verses.

Sadly, I think it's the only one that I like after listening to the EP.

I need both of those EC Illa instrumental LPs, actually.

i'm still hunting for vol. 1, but i've got vol. 2. i'll post it tomorrow evening.

as far as that prime ep, i forget where that came from. it was on some chicago based thread, but i don't know where. i really like about three joints from it, but the rest i could probably live without - it's nice to have though. i need to track down that nacrobats release called inverted reality.

I saw the album posted on page 250 of the "underground hip hop thread" at forums.hiphopgame.com

I also saw a link for Prime's "The Optimus" album.

Thanks for helping me out with those EC instrumentals.

Nice!

Okay, I'll do it like this:

My Top 15 Chicago MCs
Common Sense
Capital D
Vakill
Rhymefest
Juice
Akbar
Lumba of Rubberoom
Tommyill of Whatnoxic
Judgemental of Kinetic Order
Path of Undaground Soulution

"Egyptian Musk" is a meatyogre rip. It has a major glitch. Also, the Stony Island track "Hip Hop Has Come Back Around" has some clicks at around the 3 minute mark.
