Feels so good to hear these again. I remember when these were circulating on cassette dubs, heads were crazy with anticipation ... and then the 12" versions dropped and they were garbage in comparison.

Still, I can't believe I'm hearing decent sounding versions of these demos in 2009. Thank you.

Didn't he also have a demo song about turning into various animals and shit?

i have demo upon demo tape sitting in my studio that i need to convert to mp3 working at Upstairs Records from 94 -2001 i was laced on the regular with upcoming artist demo cassettes

My boy Jason Turner who worked at Rawkus hooked me up with Last Emp.
Me and Emp were to record a freestyle for my 50 mc's mixtape but the engineer never showed up to the studio. If you check the liner notes of my CRACKING THE SURFACE mixtape youll see it says Last Emperor next time kid.

Emp and his brother were very cool people. Emp told me it took him a year to write secret wars.

Animalistic was not part of the demo tape

unfortunately i do not have any of the tracks he recorded with aftermath
Muggs produced a track for him with B Real on the hook

the Cage stuff is early 90's stuff he did prior to the time of getting signed to Harpo/Sony

Chris was a cool dude who Necro hooked me up with , i remember one day being on the phone with Cage as he played me track for nearly 3hrs

over the years ive tried my very best to keep my "master" tapes in the same condition i received them in to preserve sound quality
