This one is from the West Coast. Bay Area to be specific.

Most of y'all probably remember The Dereliks from the "Bomb Hip-Hop Compilation", their '95 EP "A Turn On The Wheel Is Worth More Than A Record Deal" and their 2003 CD "Change For The Bus Ride Home"

http://www.discogs.com/Dereliks-A-Turn- ... ase/366624

http://www.discogs.com/Dereliks-The-Cha ... ase/852022

Anyway, here's a track from them that never came out, and IMO it's incredible. Easily the dopest cut I've heard from them.

I'm not 100% sure of the title, but I think it's titled "Kids In The West".

Props to aleph on the rip and Blockhead with the hook up.

Until next time...
Serious thanks to everyone involved. What a find.

Good fuckin shit! Hen Boogie is one of my homies so I just hit him up to ask what the deal is with this joint... I'll let you guys know what he says.

***EDIT***

I did just see this, which is a digital only release from 2007...

Image

- http://www.amazon.com/Dereliks-III/dp/B ... 7&sr=301-1

***EDIT #2***

Ok, here's what Hen Boogie told me about that "Kids In The West" song... "It's from '93. Just some stuff that never made the release. Most songs we did were recorded so we could perform them, not put out."

***EDIT #3***

I forgot to mention that Henry told me the song is actually called "West Got Stress". Also, he said there are a bunch of tracks that no one has ever heard and that they do NOT have plans of releasing any new vinyls. He said they have even been approached to reissue the EP, but said they won't because it's sacred to them... only 750 copies were pressed.

Damn, it's been a month since anything has been posted in this bitch...

Aight, well I am going to let you all have it with both barrels and upload all the rips I've received from aleph, minus a couple of things I know Verge wants to put up.

I'll try and let y'all know as much as I can about everything, as usual I am uploading to Sharebeast. Yes I know some of you seem to have issues with Sharebeast, lord knows why, it seems straightforward as hell to me, and I don't need an account. If there's something you can't get, I'm sure if you ask nicely somebody who did download it can re-up to it a more suitable place for you.

Without further ado, the music.

Here's a track some of you already know. There is a shitty rip of it floating around, courtesy of me in 2002, using a walkman and an Archos mp3 player/recorder. It was one of the first things I ripped and it was too low, and I never got a chance to re-rip. Anyway, using the same tape, aleph was kind enough to come up with a better sounding rip. Oh right, the song is A-Math - If It's On Like That. Don't know a lot about this other than it came from a Stretch & Bob show somewhere around '94-'95 and was produced by DJ Nastee. I also know that Nastee has at least a whole record's worth of songs from A-Math, that may never see the light of day, which would be a god damned shame. Enjoy this one folks, it's one of the better demos that got played on KCR back in the day. This one originated on a tape that Blockhead circulated in the mid-90's. A lot of this shit came from him, so he gets a crazy amount of credit.

http://www.sharebeast.com/mevr9o693292

Another dope demo from the same tape, another track I ripped haphazardly and substandardly back in the day is Cipher-Complete - Like This. Cipher-Complete was featured in Unsigned Hype back in '95 and of course everybody should know the track (Bring Hip-Hop Back) they put out on the Rawkus Lyricist Lounge compilation in '98. This is easily my favorite joint from these guys. Again, props to Blockhead, his tape collection was large back in the day.

http://www.sharebeast.com/h65nahgz5hdl

Here's a track from Blockhead himself. I don't know if this is him on the mic or not, but the song is called Broken Wings. Not sure of the year but it's definitely early to mid-90's. I really know nothing about this, but here it is for all of y'all. Shouts (obviously) to Blockhead for this one.

http://www.sharebeast.com/7m2odn35vuyt

I already posted the unknown DC cut but here's something else from that same tape. It's a short promo from Constant Deviants on WPGC in D.C., not positive of the year but I'm fairly certain it's '96 so that's what I labelled it. It's not much but it's a cool little thing to have. I would love to know who to give credit to here but I really don't.

http://www.sharebeast.com/p3v366q9luzg

Another gem from the D.C. area, and I had forgotten how dope this track was. I cannot verify or deny, but the track was labelled D-Nod - When Will You Young Bamas Learn? on the tape so that's what we're calling it. I couldn't even tell you if any of that information is remotely correct, but this is some quality mid-90's hip-hop here. I know some of the heads in here will be loving it. This is from the same tape as the Constant Deviants promo.

http://www.sharebeast.com/nwu71os4th9m

Something a bit different here. Here we have a promo from King Tee off the Tre Black show in Detroit circa 1997. Tre Black had a track on the Dangerous Minds soundtrack and after doing radio in a bunch of spots, I think mostly on the west coast, he scored a radio show in Detroit in the mid-90's. I don't think the show was on too long, but I have this and an even doper promo from it coming up. R.I.P. to Tre Black who succumbed in 2010 to a heart attack.

http://www.sharebeast.com/rz3xzbdlb2qu

Here's something else that came from Blockhead. I would like to assume it was something he produced, but shit I just don't know. It's listed as Livespot - Chaos and is some murky sounding shit. Props to Blockhead.

http://www.sharebeast.com/ha28fy03hwa9

Next up we got a freestyle from everybody's favorite Phat Bastard. Of course I'm talking about Pudgee. This one is from 1996 on Hot 97 and him and some other dude rip up Sadat X's Stages & Lights. I don't know who the other guy is, but this some dopeness. If anybody can identify the other MC, it would be appreciated. Don't even remember I got this from.

http://www.sharebeast.com/qvq9f0hu0k0n

Here's the other Tre Black promo I was talking about. Also from 1997. Tha Mexakinz, who flip their own "2 Many MC's" track in both English and Espanol. Dope dope shit.

http://www.sharebeast.com/13qjhqatsbhh

Next up is the last of the loose tracks I have here. It's a 1994 freestyle from The Roots off WBLS. I don't know if this is out there at all. If so I apologize. I didn't even remember I had this.

http://www.sharebeast.com/e98bdvj30he0

Aight, now we got some more Roots for you. Not even sure where I scored these but I have two live shows from The Roots. One at UCLA and the other in Minneapolis. Anybody who has see the Roots know they put on one of the dopest live shows out there. I'm fairly certain these are from around '95-'96. I haven't listened to either of them in a really really really long time. I have no track listings or anything but sit back and enjoy.

The Roots - Live At UCLA

http://www.sharebeast.com/2zx7ohnrx9dw

The Roots - Live In Minneapolis

http://www.sharebeast.com/3s4zaceygqp3

Finally I got a few demo tapes, both involving Aesop Rock. Not sure if these are out there or not, but if they weren't before they are now.

First up is Starving Artists. I know absolutely nothing about this demo. When I got it I didn't know it was Aesop Rock, nor I think did I even know who Aesop Rock was. There is one track "Troubled Waters" that appears on both of these tapes. They appear to be only slightly different.

http://www.sharebeast.com/8h8hzmp36pc9

Last but certainly not least, is an Aesop Rock demo tape. I don't even have to say anything else, as this stands on its own. Props to Blockhead.

http://www.sharebeast.com/9f3za1idtlwv

I'll be back with more once aleph hits me off with more rips. Once again mad shouts to aleph for the grunt work, Blockhead for all the material and Verge, well because he helped set all this up, plus his love for this shit embodies this whole forum.

Those Biz Markie songs are nice, thanks Krisch. I'm lookin for a re-up on those Roots performances by Digital Stimulation.

Here's some comedy from the days of Martin Moore & Mayhem on WNYU, a late night freestyle showcase from callers around the city. Most are wack and they get regulated with the quickness my Martin & Mayhem with a few really dope MCs in between. Enjoy!

Sidewalk Skolaz-Seek Out Truth CD
http://www.sendspace.com/file/jjmdvj

I don't think that Sidewalk Skolaz CD ever came out? Mine is just a CDR with a lil kinkos style printed cover. Don't know if that is the real title, the front cover is filled with lyrics and that's just the first line.

enjoy!
You're the man.

According to the Sidewalk Skolaz myspace page:
the Sidewalk Skolaz started in 1988. consisting of (producer) Beatdaddyfish and (MC) Gspot the duo met each other in hi skool and started performing at partys and open mics calling themselve The Grass Is... and releasing thier first EP(recorded @ The Wild Hare. also the first ever live hip-hop recording released in chi) " You cant bluff Father Time or fool Mother Nature" in 1993 under the same name. in 1996 they started using a more traditional appraoch to hip-hop using samplers and turntables(everything else up to then had been performed live. with like real instruments and s**t) and decided to change thier name to the Sidewalk Skolaz. after recording 3 albums in thier home studio( Fish's spare room and storage closet) during '95-'98 and using chi's finest DJ's( 33 1/3rd, 3rd Rail, Precyse) they hooked up with DJ Mary Jane to record (and release this time) a 20 track full leangth on cd titled "Seek out truth" in '01. it was the bomb.
Three albums worth of material recorded between '95 and '98? To think that this stuff may never see the light of day. Such a shame.
Would it be possible for you to re-up that Sidewalk Skolaz album?
