Jaz, BIG ups for revealing that the beat was from "Soul II Soul- Keep on Movin'", here's the mp3 12" with instrumental if anyone was digging that, courtesy of Mickey P's soul vendor blog.

I posted this vid awhile ago in a thread asking about where the first beat was from, it was concluded it was probably a beat out of DJ Rev's own production stash which i'm taking is true, but I thought i'd give it one more try before I let it rest.

I posted this yesterday on the troy blog...

Here is the super rare promo cd version of "iLLSTYLE LIVE!" from 1995. Some of you probably already have the vinyl rip but guess what? I had it too, it's time to forget about the cracks and pops and upgrade to the digital version...

Black Prophet - Extra Mile- Not sure if that's the artist name or track title, but dude calls himself the Black Prophet in it and before the hook, he says "cause I go the extra mile." The hook itself is sampled from an old song that goes,"Yah,yah,yaaah",..."yah,yah,ya-yaah". Random lyrics I remember from it-"my son, keep ya head up like a giraffe", "I be catching the holy ghost over and over","I'm broader than Broadway in broad daylight","cause I go the extra mile".
Well, I found the remix, so now maybe someone will be able to point me towards the original mix. Don't get me wrong, this remix is ill.

Oh, that's a banger! I don't remember it at all, but the flows sound familiar. I separated it to make it easier to be id'd. The last cat rhyming mentions 'Otherized Fam", so maybe it's them? Whoever it is, there must be a vinyl for it because they talk over the instrumental right after they play it. I also normalized then amplified it so it might sound a little bit better.

You might be right on that Othorized FAM tip, but that track isn't featured on any their releases listed on Discogs: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Otherized+F.A.M

Just put a post up at VA, see if they can help

Song was by kid rappers, I had it on tape single. Hook went "Sometimes it beez like thaaaaat! (word!) Sometimes it BEEEZ like thaaaaat! (word!)"

Prolly about 95 BPM.

Bassline was crazy, on some "Sally Got A One Track Mind" shit.

It wasn't the Jamal track.

Maybe a remix? I almost feel like they caught flack at the time for biting the Jamal song. Maybe they were local in ATL? A Dallas Austin-produced group? But not Illegal.

I had this vinyl EP that had something to do with Weldon Irvine and had hip hop tracks. I remember only really liking one joint but I loved that one joint. It was called Ghetto Scriptures
I had played it on that radio show I 'co' hosted, so hopefully that Sean G kid will have it and I'll be able to let yall hear it. All praise due to Sean G for hitting me with mp3s of a mad amount of my old 'co' radio shows.
I'm gonna start posting random rarities from the show somewhere in TROY real soon.

What's the track at the very end of this?, after the part where they say "While we entertain you" Rob One cuts in a new track, you only hear the drum break and the bass line coming in just as the snippet of the megamix is fading out

http://twentyfoursevenrecords.com/audio ... egamix.mp3

any clues?
