Okay, I have a weird one here: I'm trying to identify a piece of classical music used as a sample from an old internet battle from back in the day, it's been bugging me for years. I'm hoping someone here might have some knowledge of classical music and can help, the song itself is bad, but it's the sample I care about:
Heard a track at the gym the other day, sounded like one of the old UK Coldcut instrumental with samples type joints. A lot of classic hip hop was played on this station like EPMD-Crossover etc
Started off with open drums then went right into sampled clips from the 1974 Uptown Saturday Night movie "Say man, let's go to Zenobia tonight" then the chorus it says "Move it"
Also samples "Man I ain't had this much fun since reform school"
Any ideas? thx

Was listening to this Stretch & Bobbito show from 11-24-1994 and heard this instrumental playing in the back. Would be nice to have an ID on this one!

The first is the same as Bonita Applebum. Think it sounds like another break layered on top after that? Probably worth asking on the DWG forum.

Yeah I'm just looking for the first bass part. Which remix of Bonita Applebum is it? I can't seem to find it?

Thanks for the reply Hectic....but I still can't hear where the sample appears in any of those videos. Am I missing something? To be clear, I'm not searching for any of the drums in the snippet I posted.....I'm looking for where that bassline has been used before....I know I've heard it before, but I'm blanking...I'm pretty sure it's not as obscure track either that I'm thinking of....

This one is from some breakbeat record, but wondering if anybody can ID the original.
If you click on the link below, there's a 'play' button
sounds like something from the Meters or Cymande. sorry for the vagueness
Thanks for your input, Verge. Someone pointed out that BDP used the bassline in "Build & Destroy", but I feel like I heard it also used somewhere else.

That's not the one, but thanks again Hectic. I tried going on Whosampled.com, but no luck there either.

Looking for a track ID from yet another Stretch and Bobbito tape circa June 1998. There are four MCs on the track. The first cat that rhymes has a line saying "Couldn't be on the same page if I had my rhyme book in front of you." The next MC says something like "Supreme grey matter/I could break the laws of nature/resourceful emcee/swiss army multi terrain rap master revolutionist." The chorus goes "Remember/MCs/Surrender/Remember" and the track ends with a sample from Just Rhymin With Biz where Kane goes "I hate to brag/but damn I'm good." Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Heard this one on a Max & Dave archive show from 1998, no clue what it is?
There was a 'learn to breakdance' VHS I watched many years back called "Wildstyle With Wil*Power"
On this video, they visit a producer / rapper / breaker called Hazze - He rhymes over a beat in a basement studio - I was wondering if anyone knows if this beat is an official released track ? I havnt heard it for years but its got a dope baseline.. would love to track it down if it exists outside of this video
